Aria groaned as she regained consciousness, cold water splashing against her face. She blinked, her vision adjusting to the dimly lit room. She was tied to a chair. Around her stood a group of men, their expressions filled with amusement.
"Wake up," a voice said.
Aria turned to the source—a man standing before her, his arms crossed. He had a confident smirk on his face.
"Where am I?" she demanded.
The man chuckled. "You're in the main building of the King's Gang," he said. "And I'm Prince, the leader of this crew."
"Let me go," Aria growled, her eyes burning with anger.
Prince shook his head. "No. You should've known better than to enter our territory."
"I didn't come here on purpose! It was a mistake," Aria snapped.
"A mistake?" Prince raised an eyebrow. "What, did someone force you to walk into my kingdom?"
"No," she admitted. "I was fighting a man called Killer Shot. I used all my energy to launch a blast at him. The force knocked me back, and I must have blacked out. When I woke up, I was here."
Prince burst into laughter, and his men joined in.
"You expect me to believe you fought Killer Shot and lived?" he scoffed.
Aria clenched her fists. "I tried to do this the easy way," she muttered.
Without warning, she threw herself backward, still bound to the chair. The sudden movement caught Prince off guard. As she hit the ground, she twisted her body and kicked Prince away.
"Get her!" one of the gang members shouted.
The men pulled out their guns, aiming at her. Aria acted fast. She used the chair as a weapon, swinging it into the nearest thug. The impact knocked him out cold. With a sharp twist, she broke free of the ropes.
Prince stared at her, impressed. "I guess it's true—you really did fight Killer Shot."
He shrugged off his jacket, standing straight for a moment before shifting into a stance. Aria's eyes narrowed. She recognized it.
"You know martial arts?" she asked.
Prince smirked. "I guess you're a master yourself if you noticed."
Aria took her own stance, locking eyes with him. The fight began.
Prince lunged forward. Aria caught his wrist, twisting it, but he countered by shoving her back. She gritted her teeth and grabbed him again, attempting a body slam.
But Prince was ready. His fist shot forward, sinking into her gut. She gasped as the force sent her stumbling backward.
"You'll witness my power," Prince declared. "You'll die by my hands."
He raised his fist. "I'll show you the Lion Punch."
Aria slipped on her gloves, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Idiot," she muttered. "You should've taken these away while you had the chance."
Prince didn't seem to care. "It doesn't matter."
Then, he disappeared.
Aria's eyes darted around, but she saw nothing.
She closed her eyes, focusing. She tried to lock onto him, to predict his movement.
Then—too late.
