Chapter 1 - The Arrival

To defend against alien forces, the world's nations formed a unified federation. The invasion resulted in devastating losses, leaving only 30% of the original 10 billion population.

Multiple portals erupted, and humanity's vaunted modern military and weaponry proved as effective as throwing eggs against stone. The invaders possessed an internal power, a form of magic, that shielded them from physical harm.

With humanity constantly retreating, never winning a single battle, countless lives were lost. Then, the portals began to leak alien energy into the world, triggering global mutations.

Plants, animals, and humans gained a different energy within their bodies, undergoing various mutations. Humans awakened abilities, animals grew, awakening lineage powers, and plants underwent radical transformations.

The planet awakened a long-dormant energy of rebirth. From destruction came creation.

With the aid of these newfound powers, the remaining humans managed to reclaim some territory on the planet. Unifying into various bases across the globe, they joined forces to defend together. After 50 years of war, the population managed to push back the majority of the invaders and rebuild cities, leading to a renewed population increase.

They formed 32 bases across the planet in strategic locations, constructing teleportation portals between cities with the help of awakened powers for easy transport.

After another 50 years of research, humans managed to create their own system of powers and magical technologies, using monster cores to strengthen awakened abilities.

Every generation that reaches 16 years of age awakens their powers when their bodies attain the ideal form to support them. Fire, water, wood, wind—all the elements. Strange powers awaken randomly in each individual.

Currently, the world's situation has stabilized. It was discovered that as long as dungeons are cleared periodically, the portals do not leak monsters. Once a portal is abandoned, an invasion occurs.

It was also 40 years after the invasion that the planet's consciousness gained enough energy to awaken the skill panel, where everyone can see their abilities and gain more knowledge.

It was also at this time that everyone understood that the abilities and changes on the planet were thanks to the planet accessing the alien energy and gaining consciousness to make the current changes, as a way to protect against the invasions.

Thus, a society was formed where everyone lives as hunters. The Hunters' Association was created to gather information about the portals.

With the alien invasion, the planet put aside its differences, and everyone is united to survive. Now, 50 years later, they have discovered that the first monsters were just the beginning. As time passes, the alien energy increases on the planet, and the dungeon monsters begin to get stronger, giving rise to bosses and elite monsters.

In each base, schools were created to help children receive education and instruction on how to fight for self-defense and conduct research, to better survive in the current world.

The rebuilt cities were all upgraded to magical energy, recharged with magical stones from monsters, resulting in a technological leap. Apartments were created underground for housing to avoid flying monsters. The city above maintains only the commercial base for easier defense and trade. At night, everyone returns to the underground apartments.

And this is where our protagonist grows up.
