"Time to test out my skills." Harold counted a total of 37 wolves surrounding him with a larger one that was clearly the alpha.
"[Appraisal]." Harold's eyes gleamed as he activated the skill on the monsters and information flowed into his mind.

That was the basic status that the normal wolves had. As far as he could see, the only skill that seemed dangerous was the Wind Magic that the wolves had.
Due to their lack of natural intelligence, the only thing the wolves did was fire off the wind magic as a beam or projectile. And for that, Harold was thankful.
As an energy-based lifeform, magic and energy-based attacks were far more threatening that physical attacks.
'In other words, I'm a bad match up for them.' He did not dismiss them, however, and focused his senses to the peak and got ready to engage them.
"Awooo!" The Alpha howled, signaling the start of the attack. Harold grinned and rushed towards them.
The two parties quickly closed the gap between them… and continued moving on. The wolves, confused, slammed into the trees, knocking some of them down.
'Ah, I forgot.' Harold felt like slapping himself but he hurriedly turned back and extended his hands to the wolves.
"[Ghostly Manipulation]!" He yelled and grabbed one of the wolves and twirled it around before throwing it at the Alpha.
SMACK! That was the sound made as the two bodies collided with each other and one was sent sprawling to the floor with its eyes rolled back.
"Awooo!" The alpha wolf growled at having its authority challenged and Harold beckoned it with a finger.
'Time to test out the skills I gained' Harold placed his palm in front of the wolf charging at it and drew on the power that was also his life force.
Tracing it with the knowledge that appeared in his head, a small spark formed and in mere milliseconds, it turned into a Ping-Pong sized ball of fire.
"Go." Harold flicked it at the charging alpha and it responded by shooting a beam of wind energy at the fireball.
The fireball endured but eventually fell to the wind beam and it continued on to Harold.
'I guess I was expecting that.' Harold thought as he activated [Flicker] and shifted out of the way.
"[Ghostly Manipulation]." Harold grabbed the truck of a tree and ripped it out of the ground, roots and all, and swung it at the wolf.
The wolf was mercilessly smack to the side but its charge had not been in vain as several other wolves with their mouths open had surrounded Harold.
"An encirclement is a good idea. Against living beings, that is." Harold still could not pass through the floors or walls of a dungeon with ease. However, he could enter and stay in them for quite a while.
'And down I go.' Just before the attacks hit him, Harold sank into the dungeon floor. If he had to describe the sensation, it was like as if one was passing through wet concrete. Very heavy and uncomfortable.
'Honestly, it does take a bit of work and effort to do it.' Harold cracked his neck as he observed the walls of the dungeon once more.
One of the interesting discoveries he had made was the fact that elemental energy was very thick on the floors and walls of the dungeon.
It was precisely that that was obstructing him since he was an energy-based lifeform. But he found a simple way around it.
'Don't push but go with the flow.' The energy was constantly moving and by adjusting himself to the flow, he could sink into the floors and walls at will now.
'Though I can't pass through to the other side.' Harold waited for exactly two and half seconds before popping back up in the surprised faces of the wolves.
"Surprise Fireball!" Harold threw sixteen orbs of flames and knocked out most of his targets with the others being critically wounded.
Just as Harold was about to finish them off, his Perception sent a warning sign to me and he subconsciously raised his right arm to block as a huge shadow appeared before him and swiped its claws mercilessly on him.
Searing pain ran through his body as his right arm was pulverized by the alpha. What came out was not blood but white wisps of energy and Harold winced.
'I know I was keeping an eye on the alpha so I shouldn't have missed it moving. Was it a skill or what?' Harold thought as he activated [Appraisal].

'What the hell are those stats!?' Harold nearly screamed as he saw the stats of the wolf and thanked Thanatos that he was a ghost.
'And what is that skill, [Elemental Body]? I've never seen it before.' Harold focused on the skill and the other words faded away as the skill description came into view.
[Elemental Body

'What the hell is that skill created specifically to counter me!?' Harold groaned and took a look at his remaining MP.
[MP: 150/300]
"That attack alone took more than a third of my MP." Harold floated into the air as he dodged a couple of wind bullets as he spoke.
Now he knew why the alpha was still able to injure him. The [Elemental Body] skill basically worked by allowing the user to make any physical attack a spiritual one as well.
'Simply put, anyone with this skill can punch ghosts and knock out curses.' Harold expanded [Ghostly Manipulation] and turned it into a fan-shaped shield and blocked another round of attacks that were headed for him.
'The danger level just quadrupled. And yet…' Harold reached out and found his lips had curled into a smile despite the lingering pain.
'…it's a bit fun.'
