Behind the Curtain [1]

The month leading up to Love's Triumph was a blur of lights, cameras, and carefully crafted facades. It wasn't just about the contestants—no, it was about the spectacle, the magic that would captivate millions.

Everything, from the script to the background music, from the contestants' wardrobe choices to their every word, was meticulously engineered.

Lucille didn't care to understand it all, and yet, she found herself at the center of it.

The Love's Triumph team—comprising producers, directors, marketers, psychologists, stylists, and PR experts—had one goal: to create a perfect, scandalous, and unforgettable television experience.

Week One: Preliminary Casting and Introductions

The producers had already selected a list of candidates. They scoured dating apps, social media, reality show alumni, and even fitness competitions. There was also an open casting call, which many social media influencers very publicly took part in. The chosen men were a mix of charming, attractive, and over-the-top individuals, each handpicked for their looks, personalities, or potential for conflict. After all, drama was the currency of reality TV.

Lucille wasn't involved in any of this—not yet. She was kept in the background, resting under the cool pretense of luxury, while the show's producers worked behind the scenes to select the men who would be vying for her attention.

Meanwhile, Lucille was given a script to follow—not in the traditional sense, but a mental map. Producers instructed her on what she was supposed to say when she met these men, what she was supposed to wear, and how she should appear.

She was told it was important to feel the emotions but not to get too attached. They would provide her with everything she needed to perform her role, but it was her job to create the illusion of genuine connection.

It was like being given the rules of a game she didn't want to play, and yet, she had no choice.

As the weeks passed, Lucille became more and more disillusioned with the entire process. She had been holed up in her Faure Tower suite, receiving visits from the wardrobe department, makeup artists, and even behavioral psychologists tasked with coaching her to be the perfect "Leading Lady."

The psychologists' job was to ensure Lucille's personality shone through without showing too much vulnerability. They wanted her to appear strong, independent, and likable, but they also wanted a hint of "reluctance" and "doubt" in her character—for drama's sake.

It had all been scripted, even the parts where Lucille would be "unsure" about the process. The producers wanted to create a story arc, and Lucille, like the rest of the contestants, was merely a piece in their puzzle.

Week Two: Contingencies and Pre-Filming

During the second week, Lucille was introduced to the first wave of men—those who would make the initial cut. But she didn't meet them face-to-face. Instead, the producers provided her with psychological profiles on each of them.

These profiles detailed the contestants' backgrounds, emotional vulnerabilities, and triggers. Everything was planned meticulously, down to the specific words that might make them break down or the phrases that could ignite heated arguments.

"Holy hell..." Lucille muttered in disbelief, reading through one particularly disturbing profile. The man in question had a history of animal cruelty and vandalism, with notes suggesting he found "perfect things were made to be ruined."

Mira, who had been standing nearby with a drink, peeked over Lucille's shoulder.

"The heck?!" she exclaimed, immediately snatching the profile. "I'm going to have a word with someone about this."

While Lucille remained in her luxury suite, the men were introduced to the cameras. Some were told to dress in specific outfits, while others were prompted to perform stunts or engage in scripted social interactions with the crew. These interactions were filmed with precision, and every word was marked.

They would be shown through the show depending on whatever agenda the producers wanted to push about a contestant.

The show's producers had amassed a massive database containing every piece of information they could gather on these men: from their social media profiles to their childhood traumas and deepest fears. It was all there, waiting to be used at the perfect moment to create tension and drama.

The producers also had a contingency plan. They knew that, despite their best efforts to control everything, things could go wrong. What if one of the men broke the mold? What if they didn't fit the "role" the producers had imagined for them?

Simple: they could be swapped out with another contestant at any time. A handful of alternates were kept in reserve, just in case the original cast didn't work out.

Lucille was told to stay in her suite and not meet any of the contestants in person just yet. It wasn't time. Instead, she was instructed to watch videos of them. She observed as they were led through rehearsed interactions with crew members... although she was half asleep most of the time.

Some men seemed genuinely charming, while others were awkward or aggressive. Lucille found herself detached from all of them. She had no interest in any of the personalities—her role in the show was clear, and it wasn't to make connections. It was to sell an image.

After the 67th video, she called Mira and made it clear she would not participate in the process any further. They were only to contact her the night of the live stream.

Week Three: The Setup and First Impressions

The third week brought the physical preparations for the show to life. The contestants were informed about their entry into the mansion that would become their home for the duration of the season.

The elaborate setting—complete with luxurious rooms, pools, gardens, and exotic features—was designed to evoke opulence, tension, and indulgence. They were promised paradise, but with it came the certainty of conflict.

For Lucille, it was time for her wardrobe fitting. A team of stylists worked tirelessly on her outfits, providing her with an endless array of dresses, tops, skirts, and jewelry.

Each piece was chosen to evoke a specific feeling: elegance, dominance, fragility, or mystery. Her outfit choices would create a visual narrative—a story for the audience—and each one was calculated.

There was no time to question it; only to follow the plan.

She was also handed a series of pre-recorded "interviews" in which she was instructed to express her thoughts on love, her expectations for the show, and why she was doing it.

The crew filmed Lucille answering these questions from multiple angles. These clips would later be edited into montages of her "journey" toward true love. In reality, it was just more footage to be repurposed. The truth was that none of it mattered in the end.

Week Four: The Grand Reveal Begins

The final week before filming was the most hectic. Contestants began arriving at the mansion. The Love's Triumph producers ensured that every entrance was grand, giving each contestant a brief on-screen moment to introduce themselves to the media before the big day.

The rehearsals were endless. Some contestants were given scripts to follow, while others were allowed to express themselves more naturally—though they were subtly coached by the crew.

There were certain men who, although already cast, didn't show up to this portion of the process. Matter of fact, one of the men didn't show up to any of it. The producers were long getting worried but they never canceled him... for whatever reason.

Lucille, too, had her moment. Her hair and makeup were done to perfection, every imperfection hidden. The designers even choreographed her walk to make it appear as though she were gliding across the floor on the big day.

The producers had ensured that her "entrance" would be momentous. They had set up an elaborate reveal, complete with sweeping camera movements, dramatic lighting, and a "big reveal" where Lucille would step forward and tell the world that she was the new star of Love's Triumph.
