Chapter 177: Troop reorganization

That day, the combined forces of the Hidden Villages, along with the samurai of the Land of Iron, finally gathered.

Tsunade, along with the other Kage, began organizing the troops.

Main Combat Divisions

The main combat forces were divided into four divisions. The elite ninja from each village were split up and reassigned to different divisions, with all shinobi now wearing a common forehead protector marked with the symbol for "Alliance."

Looking down from a high cliff, Gaara surveyed the massive sea of shinobi. Ninjas from every village, standing together—something that had once seemed impossible.

He let out a small breath, his voice thoughtful.

"This is a rare sight... Maybe this is our chance. A chance to finally end the cycle of hatred between the Five Great Nations."

Standing beside him, Onoki gave a more skeptical response.

"A chance, sure. But don't fool yourself—there are still a lot of problems."

His sharp eyes scanned the army below. If one looked closely, small arguments were already breaking out everywhere.

"Right now, they're only standing together because we ordered them to. Reaching the unity you're hoping for... that's still a long way off."

Gaara said nothing. He knew Onoki was right.

Tsunade, Mei, and A, the remaining Kage, stepped forward to join them, standing at the highest point.

From above, they overlooked the entire Allied Shinobi Forces.

Tsunade crossed her arms. "It doesn't seem like they'll be working together smoothly anytime soon."

Gaara exhaled, then stepped forward.

Raising his voice, he shouted across the battlefield.

"Everyone! Quiet!"

His voice echoed.

The scattered arguments immediately died down. The shinobi below all turned their gazes upward.

"That's the Raikage!"

"Hokage-sama!"

"Our Kazekage!"

"Mizukage-sama!"

The entire army now stood in silence, awaiting their leaders' words.

Many of the shinobi still only trusted their own Kage. At this rate, the alliance was nothing more than a fragile gathering of different villages, still divided by old grudges.

Shikamaru and the others stood among the ranks, watching the tensions play out.

They saw the problem clearly... but there wasn't much they could do.

At that moment, Gaara stepped forward and began his speech.

His words were filled with conviction—he spoke about his own past, about the pain and loss he had endured, and about the purpose of this war.

He spoke not just to their minds but to their hearts, stirring something deep within every shinobi present.

Finally, he concluded:

"There are no barriers between those who understand each other's pain and share the same fate. Right now, there are no enemies among us, because we have all suffered at the hands of Akatsuki. We all carry the same pain.

There is no Sand, no Stone, no Leaf, no Mist, no Cloud—only shinobi.

The friend who once saved me is now the enemy's target. If we hand him over, the world is finished. I want to protect my friend, and more than that, I want to protect this world.

But I can't do it alone. I am too young, too inexperienced... so I ask you—stand with me!"

A heavy silence fell over the battlefield.

Then—

A single shout broke through the quiet.

Then another.

Then another.

And then—the entire army was roaring.

In that moment, for the first time, the ninja alliance truly became one.

---

Tsunade and the other Kage exchanged looks.

A small, knowing smile crossed her lips. For the first time, Gaara truly felt like a leader.

Onoki chuckled. "You're young, but I acknowledge you. That was the speech of a real Kage."

Gaara didn't respond—he simply gazed out at the army below, watching them come together at last.

Then—

A new voice cut through the air.

"Not bad. I approve, too."

The Kage turned, their eyes narrowing at the unexpected interruption.

Tsunade's expression immediately tightened.

That voice...

When she turned to look, she wasn't surprised.

There she was.

Kihana Sakiya stood with her arms crossed, head held high, a smirk on her lips.

She stood among the Five Kage as if she belonged there.

And the worst part?

Many of the shinobi thought she did.

When Tsunade saw her, she knew this would be trouble.

The other Kage all had different reactions, their expressions ranging from surprise to annoyance.

Raikage, however, wasn't one for patience. His face twisted in anger.

"When did you get here?! Do you think just anyone can stand on this stage?!"

Kihana Sakiya stood there with her arms crossed, looking as smug as ever. The eyepatch over her left eye only made her presence more dramatic.

"I've been here the whole time. And as an important team leader, why wouldn't I be?"

Raikage's eyes twitched. "What team leader?! Only the five of us—"

"Enough, Raikage."

Tsunade cut him off, her face blank with exhaustion. She knew better than to argue with this girl.

Instead, she simply gestured with her hand.

Immediately, four shinobi stepped forward.

Before Sakiya could react, two of them grabbed her arms, lifting her clean off the ground.

Her feet dangled in the air as they carried her away.

She kicked and struggled. "What the hell?! Put me down! I am the Eye of Death! Let go, you mortals!"

But no one listened.

The ninjas below stared, unsure how to react.

Meanwhile, Ino and the others covered their faces in embarrassment.

They knew this was going to happen the moment they realized Sakiya was missing.

Of course, she had found a way to get into trouble.

---

With that mess out of the way, Gaara finally started organizing the troops.

The first group to deploy was the Surprise Attack Division, a team of shinobi using flight-based techniques and summoned creatures to scout and gather intelligence.

Meanwhile—

Sakiya had her own assignment.

She had been given command of a specialized unit.

The troops consisted of...

Naruto.

And herself.

That was it.

Sakiya stared at Tsunade, completely baffled.

"Excuse me...?"

"Just a two-person unit?!"

Tsunade simply smiled. "Sakiya, I have high expectations for you. I originally planned to make you a core unit on your own, but then Naruto insisted on going to the battlefield. So... now there are two of you."

Sakiya was stunned.

"So... it's just me?"

Tsunade coughed and gave her a serious look.

"Don't misunderstand, Sakiya."

"I mean that you alone are the ninja alliance."

"You're too strong. You don't need a team."

Sakiya's face immediately brightened as she returned to her usual smugness.

"Hmph~ I knew it."

She placed a hand on her hip.

"You just want to use my Eye of Death as a secret weapon! But I guess it's inevitable... After all, my strength is so overwhelming, you'd be fools not to rely on me."

Naruto gawked at her.

"How do you believe this nonsense so easily?!"

Tsunade chuckled and patted Sakiya on the head.

"I look forward to your performance, little Sakiya. After all, you possess the strongest eyes in the world."

Sakiya grinned.

"Of course!"
