Cultivation

What is cultivation? Gojo asked himself as walked through the beautiful garden, his mind and soul relaxing as he inhaled the freshness from the beautiful flowers around him.

Cultivation was a simple yet complex concept to understand. It generally involved the process of refining one's body, energy, and spirit to achieve greater power. Cultivators absorb Yuan Power (spiritual energy) from the world, strengthening themselves to surpass human limitations.

In layman's terms, it was a Taoist concept by which humans can extend their lifespan and gain supernatural powers through practicing a set of martial and mystical arts involving meditation and the cultivation of Yuan Power.

Gojo sat himself down, and focused on the memories from the silver haired fella, specifically, the fight scene that nearly made shit himself.

As the scenes played within his mind, he wondered in amazement. He saw people fly through the skies at speeds even the six eyes found it difficult to calculate. Formidable earth shattering attacks that could tear apart planets. Of course, that meant this world he found himself in was bigger and more profound than his previous Earth.

He saw people use and manipulate concepts in such a profound manner that he had a hard time breaking down what he was witnessing. This was unprecedented, to the point of being divine. Any single one of those experts in the war he was witnessing could and would be worshipped as a God on Earth, yet their lives were being harvested here like wheat in a farm.

It led him to wonder just what kind of war could gather so many God like beings and cause destruction on such a scale. It was mind blowing to him. Not even the pinnacle of Jujutsu he boasted of could allow him such power at a whim. He sighed, and lowered his head realising just how foolish he had been in the past. A frog in a well, as most Chinese scholars say.

"The strength we boasted of, Sukuna, is nothing compared to what these people can do with a casual wave of their hand. What then were we so proud of?" He sighed once more, before a small laughter escaped him. "Look at me being all philosophical now"..

Cultivation however like all things in life occured in stages, in processes. One couldn't just leap from being a nobody to an expert cultivator overnight. It took time, dedication and commitment. The Dao was a lifelong revelation. A revelation some people never or will never comprehend throughout their lifetime..

Gojo grasped all this information from the memories of the silver haired fella. In a way, cultivation shared many similarities to Jujutsu. In Jujutsu, your strength and efficiency as a sorcerer mainly depended on your talent or genetics and hard work. Someone like him who was born with the six eyes and the Limitless was always destined to stand atop the pinnacle and the same applied in cultivation.

Some individuals were blessed by lady luck, born in families with rare bloodlines and physiques which boosted their cultivation pace and understanding of the Dao. They were the true geniuses of the Eras.

Gojo couldn't help but smile. The six eyes alone could be considered a rare bloodline with its abstrusities. Though He had yet to figure out how to utilise the Limitless due to the unique situation he found himself in.

But, from the scenes in the war that he witnessed, the Limitless wasn't going to protect him for very long.

Even in his previous world, Sukuna had bypassed the infinity and managed to kill him, not to talk of a world where divine beings could manipulate concepts at will, to unleash devastating attacks that could tear through space and time.

For the first time in his life, Gojo came to this realisation.. He needed something more than the Limitless if he wanted to stand atop this world. He needed more power. More power than he could ever imagine.

Cultivation was divided into stages. The nine layers of the tempered body, Stealing Yin and Yang; Yin Yang Energy absorbed during the Earthly Yuan and Heavenly Yuan Stages. Synergizing Yin and Yang, condensing it into a Dan and thus one enters the Yuan Dan Stage. After the Yuan Dan formation, subsequent levels allow one to 'Seize, Create and Transform'."

These three stages are generally referred to as the; Form Creation Stage', 'Qi Creation Stage', 'Creation and Transformation Stage respectively.

After seizing, creating and transforming, one would use the required Yuan Power to open the gateways to ascend to Nirvana. Like a carp leaping out of the dragon's gate, one would transform through the nine stages of Nirvana, becoming enlightened.

After Nirvana, it is essential to grasp Life and Death and then master the Samsara. After enlightenment, one begins to comprehend the concepts of Life and Death itself. This stage can be broken down into the Profound Life Stage and the Profound Death stage.

And after comprehending life and Death, one master Samsara, combining Life and Death energies in Yin and Yang, before gaining the power of Reincarnation.

Reading through the memories of the silver haired fella made Gojo dizzy for a while, as even he struggled to understand these concepts.

He took in a deep breath and then closed his eyes to meditate on the information, breaking down all the stages one after the other and trying to comprehend their essences. Yet, if it was so easy, then almost everyone would be an expert.

It was after a while that he realized something. Why couldn't Chen Zhen cultivate? From his memories, Chen Zhen was far from lazy. Just from his work rate alone, he probably would've qualified as an inner core disciple. Just what was wrong with him? The tempered body stage simply involved pulling in the natural Yuan Power within the environment to train one's body.

From his memories, Chen Zhen had spent countless nights absorbing the natural Yuan power within the environment, yet, when they entered his body, they just disappeared miraculously, an outcome he was powerless to change.

Taking a deep breath, Gojo sat cross legged, and began reciting a sutra. One that Chen Zhen used to cultivate, the Luo Deity Empowering Sutra, a cultivation technique that all disciples of the Luo Sect had access to.

With the six eyes' ability to see energy at the atomic level, it was rather easy for it to follow, the strands of mighty golden energy that flowed into his body, concentrating at his abdominal region.

He allowed his consciousness to sink into his body and he discovered a hollow region within his abdomen which he quickly identified as his dantian. He laughed realising that he had read too many Chinese manhua not to know what that hollow spot in his body was called.

He watched the golden strands of energy flow into the hollow spot, yet right as they were about to enter, the golden strands of energy struck a thin film of energy and then dissipated.

"What the hell?"

He quickly continued reciting the sutra, absorbing more and more strands of Yuan power from the surroundings yet when they reached the protective barrier around his dantian they dissipated mysteriously.

Gojo was persistent however. If he could break through the seal, he could allow Yuan Power to flow into his dantian which he could use to temper his body, hence beginning his cultivation journey. He couldn't give up.

He tried and tried and tried. Hours passed and it was already night time. The protective barrier around his dantian stood like a tower, unmoved by his attempts.

"Fuck!"

He slumped to the ground, mentally exhausted, as he heaved deep breaths. This couldn't be happening. How the hell was he supposed to stand atop the world when he couldn't even open his fucking dantian.

After a while, Gojo laughed. Was that doubt he was sensing? He sighed at himself. Even on the brink of death, against Toji, he refused to doubt himself, and forced his own breakthrough. Why would he start now to doubt himself now? He was Gojo freaking Satoru for crying out loud. He smirked and pulled himself up.

Realisation dawned on him for a moment, as he drew conclusions. His dantian must have been damaged somehow hence the protective barrier to sustain itself from external threats. The reason why it was probably not opening up to him was because the Yuan power he kept sending inside was recognised as external. If he could interact personally with the dantian...

"Fucking hell. Gojo Satoru you idiot!"

As he drew his conclusions, an idea finally popped up in his head, along with the probable answers to his situation which caused him to facepalm.

Sending his consciousness into his dantian once more, he allowed it to interact with the dantian, through waves of thoughts and mental processes.

"Come on!! I know you can hear me!" He felt it budge for a moment, and he gritted his teeth, putting his all into it. He could feel the strain on his mind, and the six eyes, yet he couldn't give up now. He'd rather die than live a life of mediocrity in a world full of abundance such as this...

"Ka-cha!"

A rift suddenly tore within the protective barrier, as a strand of silvery ancient Yuan power flowed through from the dantian into his consciousness. He could feel information flow through his mind, it was almost as if his dantian was talking to him.

And then...

*BOOOOM!*

The protective barrier shattered under his gaze, as strands of mighty silver Yuan power flowed out of his dantian, bombarding his innards. Gojo's figure was hurled into the distance, as beams of the silvery white Yuan power tore him apart from the inside and shot right into the skies. He went unconscious almost instantly, oblivious to the consequences of his awakening on the world.

The entire sect was startled by the commotion of the Heavenly silver Yuan power. Everyone paused their actions to witness the phenomenon. They could feel the ancient power brewing within the atmosphere, and underneath their very gazes, space itself began to fracture.

Like mirrors, shards exploded forth, reflecting everyone's gazes and the planes of dimensions that lay in different realities. Rifts tore through reality itself, fraying gaps between dimensions as they began to collapse on one another, as if a terrifying creature had been born. The air was webbed with web like tears between reality and non reality as waves of power rippled through the atmosphere.

"Just what is going on?!"

One elder was shocked beyond words, stepping back in fear, as the disciples fled for their lives.

Meanwhile, within a secluded part of the sect, a middle aged man who was cross legged on a futon opened his eyes in shock and rushed to his balcony as he witnessed the phenomenon.

"No- no. Could it be? The birth of a Divine Saint Physique? One a-attuned to the concept of Space?!"

The man's jaw dropped and he nearly collapsed to his knees. Divine Saint Physiques were the pinnacle of bloodlines and constitutions and even one of them was enough to shake a whole empire. But one that attuned to the concept of space? This was heaven defying!

Meanwhile...

A massive rift tore into space, fraying the gaps between dimensions, as inky black flames lingered around the shards. Within a small dimension three malevolent looking figures sat across a small table in deep discussion, as faint malevolent Yuan Power flared around their figures occasionally.

But their attention snapped into the distance as they too witnessed the heaven-defying phenomenon and how space and dimensions seemed to react to whatever was happening.

"Hmmm? It seems the most troublesome one amongst the eight has appeared."

"Tsk. His hands are stained with the blood of our people! He needs to die!"

"Relax brothers. We'll take care of him before he can grow and cause any more trouble for us. This world is ours for the taking and no one will stand in our way,"

They spoke one after the other and the rift in space closed as they eyed the phenomenon murderously.

Devouring Palace...

A figure, wrapped in a long black robe like his hair was seated on a throne in devouring perpetual darkness. Slowly, his eyes snapped open revealing the black holes within that glared into the distance.

Right then, a smirk materialized on his dull handsome face and his eyes glowed with a hint of joy.

"Sigh. Spatial Master. You mad genius! You did it! Hahahaha..."

He laughed as his realm slowly closed to the outside world, only to be reopened at the appointed time.
