After walking for a while, it feels like they are going around in circles. The frustration builds in Aiden's chest, tightening like a coil ready to snap.
"What the hell is this?!" His voice is sharp, raw with irritation. He stops abruptly, throwing a glare around the seemingly endless forest. "What the fuck is this place?!" he mutters.
Lucian, who has been silently scanning their surroundings, exhales slowly. "Maybe we have to be asleep to find the way out."
Aiden's head snaps toward him, eyes narrowed. "What you mean is that you want us to sleep here so that we can sleepwalk our way out of this place?!" His voice drips with disbelief.
Lucian doesn't answer. He simply watches Aiden, as if trying to determine whether he will explode further or come to terms with their bizarre situation.
