Chapter Four

Elemental class was the last thing on Kamau's mind as she laid on her large royal hammock in the afternoon sun. Kamau's mind was like a raging tornado, her thoughts were scattered and no matter how hard she tried she could not put her mind to rest.

A lot of things were going on in her life right now, and it had her confused, restless and scared. Whatever that was going on, was beyond her and she needed the help of the wise ones, but there was no one she could talk to about what was going on, because she seemed to be the only one who remembered. Kamau hadn't gotten a wink of sleep, she was plagued by these visions and dreams of the human-like creature who had killed her best-friend Ashlikka.

Kamau made her way to the knight's quarters, in search of Gaia.

"Gaia!" Kamau said followed by light knocks on the wooden door.

"Who is it?" responded Gaia, shuffling around her room and putting things in order.

"Guess." Gaia rushed to the door and opened it to find Kamau. She gave Kamau a big tight hug and pulled her in, breathing in her lily scented hair.

"You smell like the midnight falls." Said Gaia, rubbing small circles on Kamau's back.

"I went for a soak to relieve some stress." Responded Kamau, leaning into her lover's chest.

"You should have come to me. I could have easily helped with that, if you know what I mean." said a smirking Gaia. Kamau laughed and hit her lightly on the arm.

"Let's get inside, the others will be returning soon."

They locked the door and Gaia led Kamau into her room. Gaia laid herself on the bed and Kamau climbed on top of her and played with her fingers, not knowing how to bring up what she wanted to talk about.

"Gaia, recently I have been having these dream-like visions. They seem to be more of memories, that seem to have never existed." Kamau took a pause, to brace herself for what she was about to say. How would anyone believe the nonsense that she was about to utter?

"Go on Kamau, I am here to listen and understand you." Gaia encouraged her.

"As impossible as it seems, the fairy kingdom had an heiress. Her name was Ashlikka, and we were the best of friends. Every aurora, I would visit their kingdom and me and a few fairies will party just below the kingdom, near the lake of possibilities. One day, we were talking about my betrothal to Elzak, and a human-like creature appeared. It gripped Ashlikka, tightly and broke her limb by limb, it looked into my eyes, making sure I could see what it was doing to her. Ashlikka screamed for me to help her, but I was frozen. I, I really tried to help her but I was stuck. I could not move." Kamau sobbed into her arms.

Gaia hugged her lover by the waist. She was stuck in a dilemma. It was unlike Kamau to lie, on the other hand Kamau had been acting odd, since she left.

Gaia had known Kamau for twenty years now.

They had met when she was recruited into the night squadron. She had lost her way to the dorms, and ended up wondering about the plains at the edge of the forest. Near the crystal blue lake, she found Kamau swimming in the lake in her nakedness. Gaia was entranced, she could not seem to look away. The sight of Kamau's naked body in the lake, made her body feel hot and her mind drunk in lust. How could she dare to think of her Queen's daughter in such a foul manner? However, it was beyond her control.

Kamau had sensed Gaia's presence near the lake, and she knew she was walking on thin waters, teasing her mother's warrior. But she liked being watched, she enjoyed having someone watch her with such passion and intensity. Kamau rose out of the water, bringing out her chest for all eyes to see, and indeed one pair of eyes did see. She turned to look at Gaia who sat in the dry grassy field. Kamau, stood and walked up to Gaia.

Gaia knew she had been caught, and she could not run. Kamau looked down at Gaia, her eyes never wavering. She sat in her lap and pulled her neck closer. Gaia also drew closer, placing her hands on Kamau's waist, gripping tight for dear life, because the little damsel who sat in front of her had not even the littlest idea of what she wanted to do.

Kamau looked down at Gaia's lips and then to her eyes, as if asking her if she could place her lips on hers. Gaia drew closer and that was the only form of confirmation she needed. Gaia moved slowly as if she was savoring the sweet taste of marmalade on her tongue. It wasn't enough for Gaia, she wanted more, her mouth wanted to taste all of Kamau, but she did not want to rush things. She wanted to enjoy this moment for as long as it would last.

This was their first meeting yet; their first words were being uttered by nothing but their bodies. They knew what they wanted from each other; their eyes said it all. One of them was desperate for love and warmth, and the other wanted to satiate their lust. A relationship based on pure chemistry and physical attachments, went deep and was surely meant to last…or at least Gaia hoped it did.

"Kamau, so what are you trying to say? Are you trying to say time went back and life reset? Because that sounds very unreal." said Gaia. She did not want to hurt her lovers feelings but she needed to hear the honest truth.

"I dont know Gaia, but it seems like it. It's like Ashlikka really ceasesd to exist! Her existence has been wiped out!" Cried Kamau.
