Maya's body went cold as the realization sank in. Dr. Kael—her father—was the mastermind behind everything.
She wanted to deny it. To scream that it wasn't possible. But the truth was right in front of her. He hadn't been trying to protect her. He had been controlling her all along.
Kael stepped forward, his presence commanding yet eerily calm. "You were never supposed to find this place, Maya."
Aditya and Arjun moved protectively in front of her, but she barely registered them.
Her voice shook. "You… you did all of this?"
Kael nodded, unbothered by the accusation in her tone. "I created the experiments. The dreams. The visions. Everything you've been through was carefully designed."
Maya's heart pounded. "Why? Why would you do this?"
Kael exhaled, tilting his head. "Because you are special, Maya. You all are. And I needed to know why."
Arjun's hands curled into fists. "So you tortured children just for knowledge?"
Kael's expression darkened. "I gave you purpose."
Aditya's voice was sharp. "You destroyed lives."
Kael ignored him and turned back to Maya. "You're angry. I understand. But deep down, you know this is bigger than your emotions. You were chosen. You were meant for something greater."
Maya clenched her jaw. "You don't get to decide that."
Kael gave a small, knowing smile. "Don't I?"
Silence filled the room.
Then Kael stepped aside, revealing a metal door behind him.
"You've come this far," he said. "If you truly want answers, step through this door."
Maya stared at it, heart hammering. Beyond that door was the truth.
But was she ready for it?
