Chapter 44: The Hunter and the Prey

Bella stood in the dimly lit cabin, her hands clenched into fists, her breath slow, controlled.

The note in Dante's hand was a declaration of war.

"You're getting closer, Alpha. But you won't find me before I take what's mine."

Bella's stomach twisted.

Mikhail wanted her.

And he was done waiting.

Dante's blue eyes burned as he crushed the note in his fist, his muscles coiled with barely restrained fury.

"He thinks he can just take you from me?" His voice was low, lethal.

Bella swallowed hard. "He did once."

Dante's growl rumbled through the room.

"And I burned his pack to the ground for it."

Bella met his gaze, steady, unyielding.

"Then we make sure he never gets another chance."

Dante exhaled sharply, his fingers twitching as if he was barely restraining the urge to hunt Mikhail down and rip him apart with his bare hands.

Sage stepped forward, her expression tense. "We don't have time to wait for his next move."

Dante nodded, his mind already working.

"Then we set a trap."

Bella's pulse quickened.

Because she knew what that meant.

She would be the bait.

And Dante?

He would be the predator waiting in the shadows.
