The teacher then introduces the power ranking system used universally throughout the world (except among magic beasts). The system consists of six distinct levels:

Awakener:

 The starting point where individuals first tap into their latent magical potential. Often achieved through initial exposure to elemental energies, awakening one's intrinsic ability via basic meditation and elemental practice.

Adept:

 A stage where practitioners refine their control and begin to understand the deeper aspects of magic. Enlightenment plays a role as the student deepens their self-awareness, paired with the discovery or use of minor rare resources (like enchanted minerals).

Veteran:

A more advanced level characterized by improved mastery over elemental forces and a more intuitive connection to the magical world. Students undergo rigorous trials that test their commitment and insight, sometimes aided by mid-level rare resources such as ancient relics or potent herbs.

Overlord:

 A level where power begins to border on legendary, and the practitioner's abilities have a notable impact on their surroundings. The journey here involves a significant enlightenment milestone—a transformative insight or mystical revelation—complemented by the acquisition of high-grade resources, such as luminous crystals imbued with elemental essence.

Paragon:

 Near the pinnacle of magical power, practitioners at this level exhibit near-mythical control over the elements. Attaining Paragon status demands a rare convergence of personal enlightenment (an epiphany that reshapes the individual's very approach to magic) and extremely scarce resources, like a fragment of a cosmic meteorite known to amplify magical capabilities.

Transcendent:

 The ultimate state of magical evolution where one's power defies conventional limits, often reshaping the very fabric of reality. Reaching this stage is an almost legendary feat, requiring not only complete and profound enlightenment but also access to the most elusive of magical resources—artifacts or energies that exist at the edge of myth and reality. Examples of Enlightenment and Rare Resources

Ethan thought his teacher Professor Sylvara Moonveil is an overlord and his father the Duke is a Paragon. His blood boiled for power 

Enlightenment:

Students may undergo a transformative meditation in the Academy's sacred gardens where, amidst natural beauty and elemental resonance, they confront inner challenges and unlock hidden potentials. A trial by elemental spirits during an immersive outdoor ritual might lead to sudden insights that propel a student to a higher level.

Rare Resources:

Enchanted Crystals: Luminous crystals from deep within the Academy's ancient caverns, each said to hold a fragment of elemental power. Ancient Relics: Artifacts passed down through generations, such as a mystical pendant or an ancient staff, imbued with the energy of past masters. Cosmic Shards: Rare, celestial fragments from meteorites that occasionally fall from the heavens, rumored to catalyze unprecedented magical growth when properly attuned.

"Magic is not just about power," she said, her voice like a soft melody. "It is about balance, understanding, and control."

She lifted her hand, and a small orb of water formed in the air.

Then, without a chant, it froze into ice, shattered into mist, and reformed into a crackling ball of lightning.

The students gasped.
