Chapter 13: Breaking Through Elite Rank 2

Sila sat cross-legged in the meditation chamber, calmly drawing the magical energy from the mana crystals in his hand into his body. By now, the surroundings of his meditation chamber had undergone a monumental transformation.

Originally, this place was merely a quiet room with magical runes etched into the floor. These runes accelerated the circulation of magical energy and various elemental forces in the heavens and earth, allowing practitioners of any profession to enhance their abilities and accelerate their training.

Now, however, everything was vastly different.

The meditation chambers of the Victoria Magic Academy were constructed atop a special underground vein within the academy and enhanced with formations. The primary distinction between inferior and official meditation chambers lay in the extensive use of mithril and auric crystals in the latter, which enriched the indoor energy and provided a superior amplification effect for training.

At this moment, Sila's inferior meditation chamber was densely packed with mithril and auric crystals, all of which he had just retrieved from his spatial ring.

The resources he had acquired were not embedded in the room through formations, resulting in an energy concentration in the surrounding air that actually surpassed that of the official meditation chambers. This doubled Sila's training speed directly!

The perfect-quality mana crystal in his hand was becoming transparent at an astonishing rate, fully assimilated and refined by him.

However, this approach also had its consequences, the mithril and auric crystals he had purchased were being consumed at an alarming rate.

Simultaneously, a massive amount of energy was dispersed from the room where the meditation chamber was located, gradually spreading throughout the entire library.

With each breath Sila took, powerful energy waves gradually enveloped most of the library at Victoria Magic Academy.

Even a cluster of buildings on the periphery of the library was enveloped!

Many students and teachers of various professions who happened to pass by changed their expressions and stopped in their tracks.

Subsequently, they all sat cross-legged and began their training. After all, using the academy's meditation chambers required money, and even without the so-called scheduling system, not everyone could enjoy such a benefit.

Now, thanks to Sila's lavish spending, many students in the library who might not even get to use a meditation chamber once a semester were directly experiencing effects that surpassed those of the official chambers.

They all chose to remain silent and focus on their training. Even the three key characters from the original plot of "Journey of Radiance" hesitated for no moment, seizing every opportunity to enhance their cultivation without reservation.

For a moment, all conversation about Sila ceased abruptly.

Meanwhile, Scott and Livia exchanged extremely puzzled looks. They had moved a bit slower and, upon entering the official meditation chamber, were horrified to discover that something seemed to be wrong with it.

They sensed that practicing outside might actually be faster.

When these two, looking utterly bewildered, emerged from the meditation chamber passage and returned to the library, intending to find two teachers from the academy to investigate the issue, they found everything around them enveloped in silence. Everyone was diligently engaged in their practice.

The pair did catch sight of a few familiar academy teachers, but all of them were in the midst of practicing as well.

Scott and Livia could only stand there awkwardly, not knowing what to do.

"It doesn't seem like the meditation chamber is the problem. It's more like the extremely high magical energy concentration in the library is resonating with the academy's formations."

"Has the area around here turned into a giant meditation chamber?"

These were the only guesses the two could come up with. In despair, they too sat down and began their practice...

...

Crack.

Crack.

Accompanied by the sound of crystals shattering, Sila slowly opened his eyes and looked around. The glow of the various crystal energy stones and mithril he had purchased at a cost of nearly 300,000 gold coins had dimmed considerably.

"At this rate, it will only support my training for another two days or so." Sila thought, unperturbed. These resources had been purchased when he hadn't completely lost hope in his talents, and he hadn't touched the money in his main account.

As he finished his meditation, Sila casually collected the surrounding mithril and auric crystals into his spatial ring.

He sensed the abundant energy within his body and a hint of a smile appeared on his lips.

During this meditation session, he had successfully absorbed the remaining perfect-quality mana crystal in one go, breaking through to the second rank of Elite.

Two balls of magical energy were now constantly churning in his sea of consciousness, and his body felt "satiated."

He had absorbed so much energy in one go that he needed at least a brief rest before continuing his training.

He leisurely walked towards the exit of the meditation chamber, but as soon as he stepped out, he heard complaints echoing around.

"Wait, is it already over so soon?"

"I feel like I was about to break through to the next stage. Why did the amplification stop?"

The crowd murmured among themselves.

Sila was taken aback, realizing that his rough and unrefined utilization of resources had probably given many nearby students a "free ride" as well.

He felt no remorse about it.

However, as soon as he stepped out of the meditation chamber area, he found numerous students and teachers opening their eyes and casting glances at him.

The students' expressions towards Sila were less resentful than before, for today they had indeed been very lucky.

Sila's gaze swept around, but then suddenly stopped.

Before he could make any further moves, several figures immediately surrounded him.

Leading the way were Livia and Scott, with a serious-faced elder dressed in the academy's teacher's robe following closely behind them.

Sila was stunned.

Scott had always been looking for trouble with him, which he deemed reasonable due to their deep-seated grievances. A mere beating wouldn't make Scott back down.

But Sila couldn't understand how this old man had been involved.

He recognized the elder in the teacher's robe as the academy's discipline instructor, a master-level expert who had mastered the essence of the Law department—Mannstein.

This instructor was renowned for his integrity and had a high prestige within the academy. Why would he come to trouble Sila over such trivial matters between students?

Additionally, Sila also noticed a detail he hadn't paid much attention to before.

The young man in the red robe, who also bore the emblem signifying his status as a second-year student and possessed at least upper-elite strength, namely above the sixth rank of elite, took the initiative to communicate with Mannstein.

"How could he, with a strength akin to that of the Brotherhood members who average between the first to third ranks of elite, obey Scott's commands to target me?"

Sila pondered with some confusion.

His gaze flicked between Scott and Livia, attempting to discern any hint from their expressions and demeanor.

Meanwhile...

"Sila, how dare you!" Scott was the first to confront him. "Not only did you vandalize the meditation chamber scheduling board, but you also abused resources privately and disrupted the academy's order. Today, you must give us an explanation!"

Livia, on the other hand, slightly raised her chin, her eyes filled with disdain. "Sila, don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have some money. In this academy, you're not allowed to act so recklessly."

Her red robe fluttered slightly, clearly gathering magical energy.

The elderly man beside her furrowed his brow slightly, his gaze piercing like an eagle's, staring intently at Sila while emitting a powerful aura.

Under the master-level presence, Sila felt his mind becoming unstable. He spoke slowly, his voice low and authoritative: "Sila, destroying academy facilities and disrupting meditation order is no small matter. The academy's rules cannot be trampled upon by anyone. Tell me, what do you propose to do about it?"

Destroy academy facilities?

Sila was taken aback.

At this moment, the elderly man's expression darkened. "I have sensed it. All the overflowing energy originates from the meditation chamber you were using."

"The only way the entire library could benefit from the enhancement is if the formation that gathers the power of the earth's veins has been damaged!"

...

In an instant, countless students and even some instructors who had initially been spectating with amusement changed their expressions drastically.

The meditation chambers that harness the power of the earth's veins are the core resources of Victoria Magic Academy.

In the hundreds of years since the academy's establishment, no one has ever been so bold as to destroy the formations within a meditation chamber.

Once the power of the earth's veins escapes, it is more difficult than ascending to heaven to gather it back.

To put it bluntly, with Sila's lack of a sufficiently powerful background, it is not impossible for Discipline Instructor Mannstein to execute him on the spot for such an act.

"What a ruthless means! Scott and Livia are truly going all out to push Sila to his death. Their first move is already so decisive." said one observer.

"This could very well be the end for Sila." another commented.

"I wonder when Livia and Sila developed such a deep grudge that she hates him so much." pondered a third.
