"Can everyone just calm down and think for a moment? I travelled all the way here when Ester and I should be in hiding. I'm digging more of a hole for myself for that Goddess to put me in, or maybe she'll just burn me," Hannah said, her skin tingling as though the fire had started already.

"Since I've risked my life to come here, at least listen to me. I promised her that I wouldn't share her secret with you but I did because I know you better. So, calm down and listen to me for a moment," said Hannah.

Sylas stopped to listen to Hannah. "What is it?

"She doesn't want it to be that you suddenly fall in love with her now when you both didn't get along before. I mean, someone tried to kill her, and you sent them away. The least you could have done was set a punishment while she was there," said Hannah.

Hannah continued, "If I didn't know you from the time you were a young boy, I wouldn't like you if I were in her shoes. I certainly wouldn't trust you. We don't know why the Goddess put you two together. Use this chance to fall in love with her without the bond."

"That's nonsense," Sylas said, continuing to walk to the door.

Taking off the necklace would clear one doubt he had.

"Listen to me. The moment you take off that necklace, you're going to be connected to her beyond your control. You'll be drawn to her, feel her pain and her emotions, and want to touch her. Do you feel that now?" Hannah asked, knowing he didn't.

Sylas didn't answer.

Hannah took her hands off Sylas since she wasn't going to stop him anymore.

"When that necklace comes off, it will force two people who didn't love each other before then to be drawn to each other. Gain her trust, fall in love with her without the bond, and have her take it off because she loves you," Hannah suggested.

Sylas and Ophelia had the rare chance to see how they were fated for each other without the bond.

Hannah took a deep breath. She had been meddling too much, and now it was taking a toll on her body. "I see now why Ester said I shouldn't meddle. I am sorry I made finding your mate so complicated. I won't do this again."

'Unless they pay well,' Hannah thought. She could always do with more werewolf fur.

Sylas didn't bother to leave. "It is not your fault. I wanted to see if I had a mate. What else did she tell you?"

"Oh no. I am not telling you everything. You have to earn her trust. Make up for your mistakes. I understand how much you hate the Porters and why, but she's not Joel Porter. He attacked innocent wolves, but that doesn't mean you have to do the same for revenge," Hannah advised Sylas.

Why did everyone think it was to get revenge by doing just what you were getting revenge for?

"I know you, Sylas. You have a good heart. If you could just forget that she once carried the Porter name, then you would do so much better with her. She has your name now, and she's the Luna of this pack. If you don't want to lose her, do better," said Hannah.

"Very well," Sylas agreed, deciding to give Hannah's way a chance. "Thank you for telling me."

"You are welcome. I would like some of your hair since I helped you, but of course, I am not going to get it," Hannah frowned. Why did everyone want to hold onto their hair? She had lost plenty of her own before and was never concerned about it.

Sylas walked over to Hannah. "At least promise me what else you found out isn't bad. I am already confused as to why she would wear a necklace like that."

"I am not telling you anything more for you to worry too much, and to be fair, she didn't know what the necklace was doing. I had to point it out," Hannah shared. "You should go after Joel and leave your Luna out of it. Get your pack to treat her better. Rick is failing you."

"I did tell them to welcome her. It was not easy when my pack was once ready to kill Joel and his family for everything he did. I was going to let her live peacefully here without us needing to be near each other. I didn't expect children," Sylas said, wanting to avoid passing on his curse.

"Well, she did say she trusted you before, but the attack changed that. I don't know what else you said to her, but I still think there's a chance you can fix this soon. Not right now. If you're suddenly nice to her, she will know I told you. Give her a little space to think," said Hannah.

Hannah also thought Sylas needed a bit of time to think about how he was going to fix this and to speak to his pack about treating Ophelia better.

"The alpha has to lead. When your pack doesn't listen to your orders, you must punish them. They've been through a lot recently, so you are going easy on them, but she is the Luna, and she cannot be disrespected. I trust you to do well," Hannah said, knowing Sylas could fix this.

Unfortunately, Hannah didn't have the time to stick around to see how he would fix it.

"I have to leave and meet with Ester. By now, she must know that I am gone. We're going to be hiding for a while, but we will be back. Ester is still worried about us getting punished. Luckily, I saw a group of children-" Hannah stopped as she remembered who she was speaking to.

"Hannah, we've already talked about you taking children. You aren't to use any children for your potions. I will have to kill you if you do. You're like an aunt to me, so it will hurt to kill you. Promise me that you won't," said Sylas.

Hannah regretted coming to the castle to see Sylas. "I should have stayed with Ester and left you two to figure this out. I'm a witch, Sylas. I can't help what works best for my magic. I'll leave the children alone. Even the bad ones."

"Good. Thank you again for your help," Sylas said to take her mind off the children.

"I'm leaving. You were more fun when you were going around slaying the other alphas and leaving behind bodies for me to get what I needed from. Go back to that. Start another war," Hannah suggested so the kingdom would be fun again.
