Through not very lovely circumstances, nineteen year old werewolf; Audeline Palmer, the social outcast of her pack, finds out that if she dies, she comes back to life— with a new inner wolf!

Ranging from the time before Freur mates a scheming Luna from another pack, to a young stranger turned enemy claiming his inner wolf was stolen by her pack, to the truth behind her mysterious birth, to getting her original inner wolf back and understanding the origin behind her unwanted superpower.

Audeline does not, however, want to lose Freur to the maddening swirl of dark pack conspiracy as she makes him her ultimate goal. She does not care what it would cost her, even if it means dying over and over again.

After all, death is only a relief when you live once.

ALPHA'S DEAD MATE

The Sanctuary remained a sanctuary as long as the rules set down since its creation, were obeyed. As a werewolf pack, we thrived and adjusted to civilization. We hid more efficiently than before, amidst a bustling city that was ours. Imagine; hiding in your own city.

This was why we had to protect our identity. Anybody who did not belong, who was not born in the Sanctuary, who was not a werewolf, had to be an outsider. Outsiders feel like they are entitled to everything. Why else would they pour out in their numbers to this place, seeking wolves that do not want to be found? Willing to pay any amount, willing to obey ridiculous rules such as not entering the forests, not coming out at night, and not attending the "city ball" tonight. Well, the Sanctuary would keep taking their money, and they would never find anything worthwhile.

At least, that was what I always thought.
