How many years

Xiao Huoyan had now made things more difficult than they had to be he was just supposed to get back home.

Wait...did he even have a home to get back to did he have a family, what was he going to do after this, what is he going to do after this. Xiao Huoyan had enough on his plate already from his knowledge he's been walking around when he should be dead Meng Po is right he's not supposed to be here or is he?

"You were born at the end of the Han dynasty" silenced stretched then Xiao Huoyan gave a slight nod there was now a uneasy feeling filling up the air but Xiao Huoyan acted as if what he just said didn't matter.

"Are you like immortal or something?" Meng Po was not young herself she was a one thousand thirty-eight year old goddess so someone like Xiao Huoyan shouldn't be surprising to her.

But the fact that Xiao Huoyan seemed more clueless than a duck was not a good sign it was like he got hit over head.

....Did he get hit over the head?

"...No?" Xiao Huoyan said there was uncertainty in his voice Meng Po was at a loss for words just what was she supposed to do in this situation" a mortal man that seemly has been alive for three hundred ninety-eight years" there was nothing she could do for Xiao Huoyan sense he technically wasn't you know dead but the other problem was how he going to get out of here.

It's not like she can just snap her fingers and he goes back to wherever he came from.

Xiao Huoyan zoned out once more to Meng Po dismay Xiao Huoyan clearly didn't grasp the severity of his situation and it was starting to take a toll on Meng Po.

Xiao Huoyan on the other hand was captivated by a small blue lily it contrasted to the white all most bland garden it was a deep blue. Someone's eyes that resemble this color flashed in his mind they reminded him of a lily just like this one Xiao Huoyan couldn't help but pluck the flower to get a better look at it.

The lily itself was nothing special but Xiao Huoyan found it calming for him.

The river once clear and clean now black a corpse peeking from the surface.

"It was a shame that she died this quick." a voice called from behind their footsteps rustling the grass with each step.

"I guess it was a shame, this was the only mimic that would listen" their chatter was suppose to be short but this man didn't want to stop running his mouth about a promotion, they continued until a panicked voice called out.

"Sect leader i-it's gone the flute!" the poor messenger had ran all the way here to deliver this news it must have been a far one too considering how heavy they were breathing. The poor boy was then grabbed by the collar just for delivering bad news.

"What do you mean it's gone do you incompetent fools just let anybody waltz into the the pavilion."

"Do you have nothing to say for yourself you have a mouth so use it."the poor boy stamer out a response.

"T-The doors were open when i got there please i had no intention to upset sect leader or Zun jing."

To be honest he himself was less concerned about the flute and more worried about what had escaped his seal it could only be broken if someone was messing around. Only a few people had access to the pavilion as well so not only does he have to worry about what's running around. He now has to figure out who set him free. And the seemingly best candidate for general just showed how little he could care for a messenger so it would be better for him to stay at his current rank or better yet demoted.

"Thank you for letting me know, you are dismissed." as soon as the boy was given the green light he scurried off not wanting to take any more insults as soon as he was far enough from earshot he turned his attention to Zun jing.

"You have no right to ridicule or insult my messengers i would hope that you could fix that behavior of your and treat everybody with the same respect that you would give me i don't wish for this incident to repeat again." his voice was low but his tone was commanding making anyone flinch under the weight of his words.

"Of course sect leader." bowing his head as he scurried off into the village down the mountain path.
