A New Acquaintance

She raised a hand grabbing Xiao Huoyan by the chin after a bit of examining her lips curved into a sweet smile.

"Can't believe you of all people got cursed Xiao chi" she said retracting her hand Xiao Huoyan only stared blankly back at her, she saw how he stared at his obvious confusion wasn't exactly on his face by she could tell he was confused.

That sweet smile turned into a wide grin showing all of her teeth as she got in his face.

"You have a mouth now don't you use it, i don't bite" she clearly wasn't asking and Xiao Huoyan had no plans on getting stabbed after he just awoke from somewhat drowning.

"Why did you call me Xiao chi?" she gave Xiao Huoyan a smile she was happy when he started talking to her it was fine if it was just questions, though she didn't answer his question changing the subject instead.

"I've always wondered how exactly did you died you were the strongest cultivator at the time, at least that's what i thought." she spoke with admiration and respect but unfortunately Xiao Huoyan had his mind scrambled he didn't know anything about his past a the moment.

Xiao Huoyan was starting to lose interest in the conversation having no intention to answer a question he didn't know the answer too. He still remembered the conversation with Meng Po whoever put this curse on him he couldn't die right? He decided to test something just for a second standing up he lifted his hand to his mouth then biting one of his fingers off, spitting it to the side. The woman before him looked on with complete delight, the finger on the ground burned into black flames leaving nothing behind to prove its existence while his hand regrew a new finger from the bone to flesh making it look like he hadn't bitten off his finger at all.

"The curse of wandering interesting" Xiao Huoyan ears perked up in an instant.

"Do you know something about this" He said lifting up his wrist to show the sigils she only smiled standing up to stretch her arms above her head before letting out a yawn.

"I'll tell you but you need to do something for me first."Xiao Huoyan was fine with lending a hand with whatever as long as he got to know what this curse is.

"That man's head you saw me eat i need another one." she said.

"Is there a specific reason that you need to eat a head." Xiao Huoyan asked curiously.

She had that same grin plastered on her face as she continued on.

"As you can see im not human, but i consume them to gain a more human appearance with the way i look now i would be hunted by cultivators like you." she made so distance between Xiao Huoyan and herself climbing into one of the trees nearby. she was probably going into a village or town hence why she wants to look more human to other's Xiao Huoyan thought. As she continued talking she used the tree as a scratch post.

"This man happed to own me a favor so he paid with his life." Xiao Houyan walked over to the tree standing right below her.

"So what's your name, You know mine..... sort of, it would only be right to know yours." she let out a small chuckle she leaded down placing her face right in front of his.

"Well you can call me Mao Nu or Mao Mao doesn't really matter that much to me." With that she hopped down from the tree stretching like how any cat would Mao Nu let out a big yawn turning back into a cat seamlessly she looked at him with her big green eyes for a minute before speaking. 

"Alright enough chit chat it's time for you to get to work, now that were formally acquainted once more." Mao Nu said as she hopped on to Xiao Houyan's shoulder like a bird.
