Trouble

 The new day was nothing special, after eating breakfast and putting on my usual pair of shirt and pants, it was time to go.

After opening the door of my room, with my head, I quickly looked left and right.

There was no sign of that troublesome woman, which further lifted my spirits.

"Hmm, it seems coincidence doesn't happen daily after all!"

Humming a viby song, I left for the company.

But soon I realised things would never be the same!

The look those fellow employees gave me...…

I understand the jealousy, but why do their eyes are filled with flattering, and what's wrong? Why is everyone greeting me so politely?

As I was about to enter my office room, the woman I hated the most stopped me!

 "Cheq?"

 "Oh, you are a bit late today! But it's okay, it's hard to be punctual daily."

The old hag Mandy was full of smiles.

 "Actually, I realised I had been too harsh on you lately! Probably, I am getting old, so losing my temper these days is becoming my new habit."

 "Still, I want to sincerely apologise if my past words ever hurt you!"

With a face full of wrinkles, Mandy took a step closer to me.

Immediately, as an instinct, I took a step back.

 'What are you doing, old hag? Did the sun rise from the west today?'

 'How come such nice words of respect appear at the vile mouth of this vicious lady?'

I quickly understood something must be wrong!

 'Damn, I still haven't taken revenge on you for reporting me to Catherine, and you came on your initiative?'

For sure, I knew some misunderstanding might have happened!

'It must be related to people witnessing me and Catherine leaving together yesterday after work, anyway since misunderstanding has already happened, better just pretend and be magmanacious! At least that way no one in the company will bother me.

Understanding the ins and outs of the matter to my best, I gave an equally big smile.

 "Elder Sister Mandy, Why are you lowering yourself so much?"

 "Between us was just a minor understanding and even that has been cleared now."

 Like we were some old friends, I humbly replied to her.

And just like I predicted,

Hearing my words, the furrowed eyebrows of Mandy eased instantaneously.

Looking left and right, after making sure there was no one in the hallway, she sneakily whispered.

 "You don't have to worry about anything! The entire company's staff ships your relationship with the boss."

 "We all are very happy, you can take her out boldly without any worries, we will cover for you!"

Mandy talked enthusiastically.

 "Also, don't underestimate our CEO as some naive girl. She has a powerful family behind her back. If you made a mistake or insulted her, I suggest you secretly leave this city altogether."

 "There was once a rich second generation who visited Catherine's mom behind her back! Guess what?"

Mandy's face was serious, it didn't seem she was joking.

Immersed in the momentum, I too, asked,

"What?"

 "The next day that rich second generation's body was found floating in the river."
