When Ezra and Oberyn returned to the pagoda, the sun had already dipped well below the hills and night had begun to claim the sky. Rav was sitting outside, enjoying his evening tea. His sharp, discerning eyes gravitated to them as they arrived.
"Back so soon? You didn't kill our thorny friend already, did you?"
Ezra smirked, but shook his head in disagreement. "If only it were so easy. We have a few things to pick your brain about, Rav, but -"
Oberyn tugged on the corner of Ezra's shirt.
"But Oby and I need to take care of something first," he said with a snicker.
"Oh yeah?" Rav's tail swished back and forth expectantly. "And what's that, hm?"
"Ezra's going to mark me up, and then I'm going to use that toy you gave me on him."
Ezra's mouth dropped open in surprise.
"Why, the little fairy has become so bold, hasn't he? And where do I fit in? Want me to watch?"
