Years passed, and Aradon mastered his new ability. The creatures of the forest were his to command, their loyalty unquestionable. When he returned to the castle, he was no longer the same reckless, curious boy.

When Avirinth launched another attack against his kingdom, Aradon did not raise an army.

He raised the monsters.

As enemy forces stormed the castle gates, shadows moved. The creatures ripped through the invaders, their screams swallowed by the night.

Word of the massacre spread quickly.

The other kingdoms—Avirinth, Galdoria, and Velkar—once eager to destroy Vaeloria, now feared it.
