The crowd erupted into another commotion.
I looked at Blaine's pale face.
Suddenly, I was reminded of the day we first met.
To save me from accidentally falling into the water, Blaine jumped in without hesitation.
Drowning in the lake, I thought I was about to die.
But then Blaine appeared.
He skillfully dragged me back to shore, his expression calm and serious.
"Are you alright, miss?" he asked.
I was stunned for a moment, only coming to my senses as Blaine was about to turn away.
That was the first time I asked a strange guy for his contact information.
He saved me.
But I also paid the price of a leg to save him.
Now, I no longer owed him anything.
With this thought, I didn't spare Blaine another glance. I pushed through the crowd and left.
From that day on, I returned to my small rented apartment.
But Blaine still found me.
He was a completely different person from before.
Gone was his former vigor and vitality.
