Gunner was taken aback by my words. He chuckled, "Then come quick, I made your favorite lasagne."
Luna was already sitting at the dining table waiting for me. When she saw me approach, her eyes crinkled into a smile as she used a spoon to scoop a big helping of lasagne into my plate.
"Mommy, Luna gave you some lasagne!"
"Thank you, sweetie." I couldn't resist pinching Luna's little cheeks. "How did my daughter get so adorable?"
Happy days pass quickly, and before we knew it, a year had flown by.
On this particular day, Luna's preschool was holding a parent-child sports day. Gunner had to work overtime and couldn't make it, so I had to take Luna by myself.
In the afternoon, Luna participated in the first event with the other children. Seeing that there was still time, I decided to buy some cotton candy and wait for her at the finish line to give her a surprise.
As I was squeezing my way back with the cotton candy, I overheard some parents whispering.
