"Mom, what's wrong?" Luna's innocent voice sounded as she reached out her tiny hand to me. "I wants Mommy to hold me."
My heart raced as I took a deep breath, bent down to pick up Luna, and kissed her cheek. "Mommy's fine, sweetie. Mommy just missed you so much."
"Your cheek looks a bit swollen. What happened earlier?" Gunner noticed my injury with keen attention.
I shook my head. "It's nothing. Just got bit by a couple of mad dogs."
"Who are you calling mad dogs?"
Kellan glared at Gunner and Luna, his face as dark as the bottom of a frying pan.
"Whoever answers is a mad dog."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"Daddy... this person... he looks like you..."
Donavan tugged on Kellan's clothes and suddenly spoke softly. His words were like pouring gasoline on a fire. Kellan immediately snapped, "Vivienne, who are these people?"
I blinked, looking at the beautiful tear mole under Kellan's eye, then glanced at Gunner who had an identical tear mole in the same spot.
