CHAPTER 3: RYUSUI
"YOU MEAN NANAMI RYUSUI, RIGHT?!"
It was one of those rare times Rika was astounded to hear such an amazing coincidence with hearing the familiar name bring up not so fast ever since her revival in the new and untainted world of nature and jungle.
"Ryusui? Wait, that's what you just said now..." Kohaku asks while looking so confusedly at the reporter.
"NOPE, NOPE, NOPE! I think it's best we give up on this guy after all." Minami (the reporter) whined.
The green-haired stickman looked at Rika with a questioning expression, Ignoring all the commotion in front of him. "You know the guy?"
She was about to nod her head, but on second thought, maybe not. She shook her head in response. "Don't know the guy, personally. I just heard of him in the industry since I was aligned with meeting ship sailers like him in my every project acquainted with the ships and stuff."
"Huh, I guess." He looked at Rika with a piercing gaze. Senku doesn't believe that statement of hers, let alone the flow of her cunning and manipulative mind. Reviving Rika was sort of a rush decision for him and the way she act and presented herself with the others while getting one step ahead of them wasn't the best trait he could ever ask for.
But does he have a choice?
He doesn't trust her. Not one bit. Does it even matter?
Not like he can turn her back into stone.
He just have to put up with it and make sure the girl can work for him until the deal was done.
"He's good," Senku stated as he averted his gaze towards the trembling Minami. "Right? For you to have brought him up..."
He got her there.
Rika mentally laughed as she watched the whole thing in front of her. Nanami Ryusui is not just an ordinary man who happened to be studying at the school who was once standing mighty high at this certain place where they were currently standing.
The Nanami Academy was owned by the Nanami Conglomerate, well known to be the 'King of the Shipping Industry'. The group's total wealth was over 200 trillion yen, which of course is not an unexpected thing in being a conglomerate.
Nanamin Ryusui, who happened to be the person they were looking for...
Was that family's extravagant 'brat'.
"Ever since he was a young boy, he apparently collected things like model cars and ships in bottles, " She started the explanation. "Using his pocket money of a hundred million yen."
"WAIT, HOW MUCH?!" Nikki and Taiju were shocked. They couldn't even begin to understand how much money could be even called what you called 'pocket' money. Of course, the others, being born after the technology and currencies exist don't understand how much these numbers really cost. "Eventually finding that unsatisfactory, he had a real sailing constructed."
"From the time he was a junior high schooler, he continuously sailed around on it himself, hanging out all over the world." She ended. At this explanation, it made the other fired up about reviving the man.
"A captain since he was junior high? He must be crazy good!!" Taiju was ecstatic.
"Real experience is the most!" Kohaku agreed.
"Didn't I say that he was an 'extravagant' brat?" Minami reminded the two while pointing her point finger at them. "He's the person with vested interests. The kind Tsuka-san would hate the most."
"So I say that we should pick someone else to revive." She added while constantly nodding her head. "There probably no one who can captain a sailing ship as well as Ryusui-kun, but they're also no one with a personality as bad as his, either!!"
Then why bother mentioning the guys if you don't want to get revived.
Rika had commented. Only on her mind, though.
"A choice between two extremes, huh?" Nikki commented. "Should we choose someone average but honest, or the most skilled individual who's over-the-top..."
Before anyone finds out, Senku the reckless reviver, already opened up the flask that holds the remaining miracle fluid on his cute pouch and recklessly poured its content into the stone statue of Ryusui.
"SENKU!" This shout had made all the people turn and looked in his direction. They were distraught to see him looking all innocent and dumb at what he'd done. "AHHHHHH! You already put it on?!"
Senku just giggled. "Heh, heh! Isn't it obvious that skill comes first?"
A small smirk and bright look appeared on Rika's face as she was the only one who remained quiet throughout the conversation and had seen all of what Senku had done.
Then why did she not stop the stick man?
Why should she do that?
A few seconds passed, and cracks were formed on Ryusui's statue as the statue began to move on its own. To her eyes, something that came out from a bible is happening right in front of her. A pragmatist person like her would never say or admit something like that, but this moment is in fact, one of the most amazing she had seen.
Science was the one who cause this phenomenon and she made it look like a resurrection was happening right before her. How unbecoming of her.
One part breaks and was quickly followed by another one as the whole thing came out of the stone. A proud and handsome man appeared with his naked glory, giving the best smile he could ever give to all of them. "Ha! Ha! I'm finally back!!"
"ONCE AGAIN, THE WORLD IS MINE!" He yelled with all of his might.
Rika unconsciously let out a small laugh that only she could ever hear.
She was grateful, but at the same time is resentful.
The 'brat' is finally back!
