Eyes in the Shadows

As the café doors swung open, the deafening screams from outside filled Yuna's ears. The crowd was packed with fans waiting eagerly to catch a glimpse of Nova. Phones were raised high, each person hoping to get even a fleeting moment of closeness with their idols.

Nova's members, escorted by their bodyguards, moved swiftly toward the exit. Doyoon led the way, his expression calm but cautious. Minseok and Jaehoon walked with the ease of those used to such attention, while Haesso cheerfully waved at the fans. Eunwoo, however, remained silent.

For the briefest moment, his eyes flickered toward Yuna's corner inside the café. Then, just as quickly, he looked away.

Yuna leaned against the counter, taking a deep breath. Her heart was still unsteady from earlier. The way Eunwoo had looked at her… the way he had held her hand… that fleeting but intense moment of connection—

No, she told herself firmly. He was just being polite. Someone like him wouldn't care about someone like me.

As Nova's members climbed into their sleek black vehicles, the crowd erupted into another round of excited screams. Then, the doors shut, and the cars rolled away.

Gradually, the excitement outside began to settle.

Inside, however, a pair of eyes remained locked onto Yuna.

Hwan took a slow sip of his coffee.

The book in front of him was still open, but he was no longer reading. His gaze was fixed solely on Yuna.

She gave him a strange feeling.

"Interesting."

She was so… ordinary. He would have thought no one but an angel would find her worth noticing.

Yet, here he was. And he found her interesting.

Tilting his head slightly, a faint smile played on his lips.

Something stirred within him—something he didn't fully understand.

But was it mere curiosity?

Or was this the beginning of an amusing game for a demon?
