Soon, a man in a black and white robe came rushing into the room.
"Your Majesty, I came as soon as I heard. Congratulations on the birth of your son," Taoist Huang greeted with a bow, his hands clasped together respectfully.
But before he could finish, Bai Xie, who was pacing back and forth, cut him off sharply.
"Shut your trap! I didn't call you here for such trivialities.
Quickly, come over and check this baby's Dantian and Meridians!" Bai Xie shouted, his voice sharp with impatience and frustration.
"Right away," Taoist Huang said, taking the baby from the maid's arms.
He gently placed his palm on the child's chest, closed his eyes, and focused on sensing the internal structure of the baby's body.
He squinted his eyebrows, as if he had encountered something mysterious and unexpected.
Then, his eyes snapped open, and he stared at the baby in shock, his expression a mix of disbelief and awe.
"What? What is it? Tell me, what did you see?" The impatient mother demanded, her voice sharp with urgency as she leaned forward, her eyes locked on Taoist Huang.
"This baby... doesn't have a Dantian.
In my whole life, I've seen countless things and examined all kinds of people, but I've never encountered such a thing.
If what I saw is true, then this child is more talentless than a common civilian," Taoist Huang stated, his voice trembling with shock.
In his astonishment, he had completely forgotten who he was standing before and who he was examining.
He simply blurted out what he saw and thought, his words hanging heavily in the air.
The audience, who had been cheering just moments ago, fell into stunned silence.
They didn't know how to react, their minds struggling to comprehend how a child of such prestigious lineage could turn out to be... like this.
But the ones most shocked were the mother and father.
'How can this be? A child of my own, completely talentless???... What will people think of me when they hear this? What will the main family say? No, this can't happen,' Bai Xie thought, his mind racing with panic and dread.
"Take the child away. Dispose of him. And spread the word that my child died at birth," Bai Xie commanded, his voice cold and unyielding. He pointed around the room, his gaze sharp and threatening.
"All of you who witnessed this—keep it to your graves. If I find out anyone spoke of this... the consequences will be dire."
The room fell silent. No one dared to speak out, knowing full well how cruel Bai Xie could be and how little he thought of common folk—even though he himself was half common folk.
The wife, Fei Xie, should have, as any mother would, protected her child. But she didn't move a muscle.
She didn't even flinch at her husband's orders, as if he had spoken the words she herself couldn't bring herself to say. Truly, a failed human being.
The doctor hesitated, his heart heavy with reluctance. He didn't want to do it, but he had no choice—it was the baby's life or his own.
With a family to protect, he had to save his own skin. Swallowing his guilt, he picked up the baby, placed it in a basket, and carried it out to the garden.
The baby, who hadn't cried up until now, had seen everything that had unfolded before him.
'What the fuck is going on right now?' the little young master, now being carried away to his death, shouted inwardly, his tiny mind reeling with disbelief and panic.
'The first thing I know after departing from the gods is that I was held in my mother's arms, and now... I'm deemed talentless and sentenced to death??? What about the peaceful life they promised me?' the young master thought, his tiny body swaying as he was carried away, his mind racing with confusion and frustration.
'This must be the stupid gods' fault for mixing up my name,' he thought bitterly as the basket was placed in the garden beside a flowing river.
The doctor pulled out a knife, aiming it at the baby with a hesitant, conflicted expression.
'So even in my second life, I go out the same way, huh? How fucking hilarious... Bring it on, then,' the baby thought, closing his eyes tightly and puffing out his imaginary chest muscles, as if ready to face his fate once more.
The sight was oddly adorable, given his tiny, fragile body.
"Haaah... I can't do this. Not to a baby," the doctor exhaled, lowering his knife.
He glanced around nervously to see if anyone was watching, then reached into his pocket and pulled out three bean-sized green substances.
"I know you don't understand me, but I'll say this anyway. This is an energy pill—used as a booster or emergency food.
You can suckle on it, and considering you're a baby, one should last you about a week.
It won't make you full, but it'll at least keep you alive," the doctor said, placing one pill in the baby's mouth and one in each of his tiny hands.
"Your fate will be up to luck now. May the heavens look upon you, young master," the doctor said, his voice soft with a mix of guilt and sorrow.
He picked up the basket and gently placed it on the flowing river, watching as it drifted away.
'Wait, what do you mean? Put me in—' Before he could even finish the thought, he was already floating on the surface of the river.
He flailed his tiny hands in panic, but it did little to change his situation. Still, he held on tightly to the energy pills clutched in both hands.
The gods may have messed up his starting point, but his luck blessing was still intact. Somehow, against all odds, he had managed to come out of the situation alive.

Side Note
The manor in which he was born was situated on the outer skirts of the mainland. The river flowing past it connected to the Celestial Mirage Ocean, where the four mainlands met—a vast, unpredictable expanse of water.
