Qin Fei threatened Yang Chen to protect Qin Shi

Qin Fei stood outside the door, his expression gradually twisting with rage. 

"Bastard! Just a worthless piece of trash that everyone despises, how dare you talk to me like that!" Qin Fei gnashed his teeth in fury. 

"Who was it?" Qin Xi asked as Yang Chen returned. 

"Qin Fei," Yang Chen replied calmly. 

Hearing this, Qin Xi was surprised. "Why did he come?" 

"Back when you took the company contract to Old Master Qin, it was Qin Fei who personally drove you out. He thought the cooperation with Sanhe Group would go smoothly without you. But now that you've been appointed as the company's general manager, he's naturally worried the deal will fall through. That's why he sent Qin Fei to see you," Yang Chen explained. 

"Xi'er, you became the general manager of Sanhe Group?" 

Zhou Yucui, who had overheard Yang Chen's words, was overjoyed, and Qin Yi also looked at Qin Xi with excitement. 

Qin Xi gave Yang Chen a complicated glance before nodding at Zhou Yucui and Qin Yi. "The appointment was just finalized before work ended today." 

"Why didn't you say so earlier? I would've cooked more dishes to celebrate!" Zhou Yucui exclaimed excitedly. 

Qin Yi grinned and said, "Sis, how about this—tomorrow, I'll treat everyone to a meal. Just our family, dining out." 

"Alright, let's eat together tomorrow," Qin Xi replied warmly. She knew all of this was thanks to Yang Chen, but given his special status, she couldn't reveal the truth yet. 

As the family chatted happily, Qin Xi's phone rang. Seeing the number, she frowned slightly. 

"Answer it. See what he has to say," Yang Chen said, noticing her hesitation. 

Qin Xi picked up the call and heard Qin Fei's voice: "Xi'er, I have something urgent to discuss. Could you open the door for me?" 

Qin Xi's brows furrowed. "If it's personal, say it over the phone. If it's business, come see me at the company." 

"Just open the door, please? Let's talk face-to-face. It's really urgent," Qin Fei pleaded, his voice filled with anxiety. 

Qin Xi hesitated, casting a helpless glance at Yang Chen. After a brief pause, Yang Chen nodded and went to open the door. 

"Fine," Qin Xi replied tersely before hanging up. 

Soon, Qin Fei followed Yang Chen inside. 

The Qin family remained cold and indifferent, ignoring him. 

Carrying a gift box, Qin Fei approached Zhou Yucui first with a forced smile. "Auntie, this is a genuine imported cosmetics set I had a friend bring back from abroad. I prepared it especially for you. Please accept it." 

Zhou Yucui's eyes lit up at the mention of "imported cosmetics," and she unceremoniously took the box, though her tone remained icy. "What do you want with Xi'er so late at night?" 

Seeing that Zhou Yucui had accepted the gift, Qin Fei inwardly rejoiced and quickly said, "There are two reasons I came to see Xi'er in such a hurry. First, some good news—Grandfather specifically asked me to invite you all back to the Qin family estate. He's even prepared a villa for you, twice the size of this little two-story house. Everything's ready—you can move in right away." 

Zhou Yucui was instantly delighted. "Really? We can move in immediately?" 

"Mom!" Qin Xi couldn't take it anymore and said coldly, "We're doing just fine here and have a place to live. Since we were expelled from the family, there's no need to go back. What's the second matter?" 

To Qin Fei, whether Qin Xi returned to the family or not didn't matter. The second issue was his real concern. 

He hurriedly said, "The second thing is about the cooperation between Sanhe Group and the Qin family. The contract still hasn't been signed. Now that you've taken over, could you finalize the deal as soon as possible?" 

Exactly as Yang Chen had predicted, Qin Fei's visit was solely about the cooperation. As for Qin Xi's return to the family, that was likely Old Master Qin's idea. With Qin Xi's current status, her return would elevate the Qin family's standing. 

Yang Chen remained silent, quietly observing how Qin Xi would handle the situation. If he had wanted to refuse Qin Fei outright, he would've told Qin Xi to ignore the call earlier. 

The reason he agreed to meet Qin Fei was to see what choice Qin Xi would make. 

Zhou Yucui, sensing the tension, wisely stayed quiet. She wasn't foolish—she understood that Qin Fei wouldn't visit without an agenda. 

Qin Xi let out a cold laugh. "Why the cooperation hasn't progressed—others might not know, but how could you not?" 

"Xi'er, I admit I was wrong in the past. I slandered you everywhere, and it's entirely my fault. I won't ask for your forgiveness," Qin Fei began with an apology, then put on a sincere expression. "But I hope, for the sake of the Qin family, you'll give them a chance. If you truly can't forgive me, fine—you can ask Grandfather to expel me from the family. I won't complain. I just beg you to spare the Qin family." 

His tone was earnest, and to someone unfamiliar with his character, it might've seemed heartfelt. Yang Chen watched coldly from the sidelines. 

Qin Xi bit her lip lightly and instinctively glanced at Yang Chen. Seeing that he wasn't looking at her, she understood he was leaving the decision entirely to her. 

Just then, Qin Fei did something shocking. 

*Thud!* 

To everyone's astonishment, Qin Fei dropped to his knees before Qin Xi. His head was bowed, his eyes bloodshot, his face twisted with humiliation. But when he looked up, only pleading remained. "Xi'er, I truly know I was wrong. I beg you—give the Qin family a way out. As long as the cooperation with Sanhe Group goes through, I'll do whatever you want." 

"What are you doing?!" Qin Xi exclaimed in alarm. "Get up!" 

"If you don't agree, I'll stay kneeling forever," Qin Fei declared with determination. 

"Stand up first, or I'll cancel the cooperation with the Qin family," Qin Xi said through gritted teeth. 

Hearing this, Qin Fei's face lit up with joy. He scrambled to his feet, overjoyed. "Xi'er, does that mean as long as I stand, you'll continue working with the Qin family?" 

"Go back and tell Grandfather that a great family must act with dignity. Never go back on your word again. Since you've already expelled us, from now on, we have nothing to do with the Qin family." 

Qin Xi looked at Qin Fei with a complicated expression. "This is the last time I'll help the family. As for the debt of gratitude for raising me, it was repaid the moment the Qin family took Sanhe Group from me." 

Qin Fei's main goal was securing the cooperation. Qin Xi's refusal to return was actually good news for him. He quickly said, "Don't worry, I'll relay your words exactly to Grandfather. This time, on behalf of the Qin family, I sincerely thank you!" 

With that, Qin Fei even bowed deeply to Qin Xi before turning to leave. 

The moment his back was turned, no one saw the fury contorting his face. 

Yang Chen narrowed his eyes slightly, watching until Qin Fei disappeared from sight. Then, under his breath, he murmured, "You'd better not do anything to hurt Xi'er. Otherwise, I'll bury the entire Qin family with you."
