There was silence from the other person before they grunted as the door opened wide.
Lucian scoffed as he walked forwards. Before him was a stairs leading to an underground cave.
Lucian didn't hesitate to enter inside. He then followed the man for almost a kilometer before arriving at another stairs that led upwards.
He was finally here, at the black market.
Lucius moved through the crowd silently. With his Heaven Cloaking veil, no one really payed attention to him.
This was why Lucian wanted this skill. The less attention, the less trouble.
He could see a few Pickpockets and petty thieves darted through the streets, eyes hungrily assessing each passerby like preys.
Stalls lined the streets like hawkers, their owners silently haggling with buyers while some just out right enter to drag customers to buy from them.
After observing for a few more seconds, he decided on the store he was going to
The shops exterior was dilapidated but once Lucian stepped inside, it was vastly different as interior looked quite fascinating.
A wiry old man with glasses that daily in his nose looked up from the counter as Lucius entered.
"Welcome," he said, his voice neutral lacking any emotions. "Buying or selling?"
"Both," Lucius glanced around before saying.
Suddenly he waved his hands and massive amounts of relic items fell onto the counter. Stone spear, silver ore, leather armor, Metal swords and various items he had taken from the Lizardmen camp.
It was quite a lot but there were at least 20 bronze grade items, 10 Iron grade and 2 Silver grade equipments there.
The proprietor's eyes widened slightly, betraying his interest despite his composed demeanor. "These are…much," he murmured, lifting a gravity Silver grade sword to examine it against the light. "Did you raid the armory?"
"If I did, how does it affect you?" Lucius replied flatly.
"Not particularly," the man glanced at Lucian for a while but then shrugged. , setting the Sword down, he picked up a calculator and after a moment, he named a price: "Three thousand relic coins. Fair, not generous. Take it or leave it."
Lucius's eyes narrowed. "Three thousand ?" He scoffed,
"Three-fifty hundred," Lucius countered,
The merchant's fingers twitched. His eyes lingered on the Lucian for a moment then said.
"3,200!"
"3,400!"
Lucius insisted.
A moment of tension stretched between them, the air heavy with calculation.
Then the merchant nodded, a smile creasing the corners of his mouth. "3,400, it is."
The old man spread his hands and a couple of relic coins fell onto the counter.
Lucian without even counting it waved his hands and kept it in his Intersteller space.
With the transaction complete and the relic coins safely tucked , Lucius turned to the man and spoke. "I need a mana storage device," he said, scanning the glass cases. "Something basic but reliable. And a meditation technique simple, effective."
The proprietor nodded, retrieving two items with practiced efficiency. The first was a small, ornate amulet, its central gem a dull blue that flickered faintly when Lucius brushed it with his finger.
"Mana Storage Amulet," the man explained. "Common grade. Stores up to 20 mana points. Thirty relic coins."
The second was a worn scroll, its edges was tattered but its ink was still readable.
"Breath of the Void' meditation technique," the man continued.
"Enhances mana regeneration and control. Old, but still functional. Twenty coins."
Lucius examined both, they weren't special in anyway, but they should serve his immediate needs until his mana outgrew them.
He slid fifty relic coins across the counter, purchasing both the item and the meditation technique and keeping them in his Interstellar space.
As he completed the transaction, the man suddenly said. "I also deal in information if you happen be looking for some."
Lucian squinted his eyes as he glanced at the shrewd old man. The man blinked as though he was innocent as he waited for Lucian's answer.
"And what informations do you think I need right now?" Lucian asked.
"I have no idea, you tell me."
Instantly Lucian turned around to leave.
"Goodbye."
He didn't like someone playing around the bush with him and being cunning. It was obvious the man knows something and he wasn't telling.
"However-"
The made Lucian stopped in his tracks.
"I did hear of a certain someone who was expected to awaken an S-rank talent, surprisingly awakened an F-rank talent."
Lucian's face turned cold as he gazed expressionlessly at the old man.
"And?"
The man's lips curled into a soft smile as he continued.
"With the anger of the Mayor, that certain someone would never be able to use the portal available in this town. If only there's an inhabited one he could use."
Suddenly Lucian chuckled as he knew where the old man was going. "You mean you have information on an unclaimed portal and would like to sell that information?"
"Bingo!"
Lucian snorted. "How much?"
"Not much actually, just 199 relic coins for the information."
Lucian immediately packed this things and started walking toward the exit.
What a joke. It was just information. No matter how valuable, why would it cost up to 200 relic coins.
Moreover, for it to be unclaimed means it would be difficult to reach there and might be fraught with immense dangers.
"Wait! As a young man, you had to be patient sometimes."
Lucian rolled his eyes. "I have something incredibly heavy to do at home, you're simply wasting my time. "
"Alright young man. How about 150 relic coins and I throw in another piece of important information."
Lucian wanted to disagree but then he nodded eventually.
"Deal!"
The shrewd old man smiled and then brought out an old map. "The location is on the map and it's not too far from this place."
Lucian placed the map into his interstellar space and asked. "What about the second information."
"The yearly auction would begin this night. There are rumors that there would be a legendary item to be sold and a Rank 3 meditation technique."
"Let me guess, you you have information about the items and how much they would cost?"
The old man chuckled but his eyes shifted from embarrassment.
