Minato Namikaze spoke excitedly, "Naruto, this thing feels way too powerful to just be called a Rasengan. It should be called... Spiral Super Wheel Pitch-Black..."
"It's called Great Spiraling Wheel Yu."
A calm voice interrupted, cutting off Minato's urge to name the black sphere.
Naruto had already remembered seeing this form of the Rasengan in Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie. In that movie, Menma Uzumaki had thrown a Great Spiraling Wheel Yu in Konoha.
Its power was comparable to Nagato's Super Shinra Tensei, leveling the entire village in the blink of an eye.
"Uh... alright..."
Minato looked a little disappointed, but he felt that his son's naming choice was fitting.
Suddenly, Kurama lowered its head toward Naruto and asked, "Naruto, how much chakra did it take to form this thing? I can sense that its essence is very close to my Tailed Beast Ball."
"About two-thirds of my chakra," Naruto closed his eyes, carefully sensing before responding.
Kurama's crimson eyes flashed with surprise, then it grinned. "Heh, brat, when you grow up, your chakra reserves will rival Hashirama Senju's."
"You might even surpass him. I know the Uzumaki clan very well—my first Jinchūriki, Mito Uzumaki, had chakra reserves that were no less than Hashirama's."
Naruto nodded. He recalled how people online in his previous life often joked about this in Naruto videos.
They said that for people like Naruto and Hashirama, chakra was measured in tons—so they should be called Chakra-tons instead of just chakra. Meanwhile, everyone else measured chakra in mere grams—so they were the real chakra users.
A prime example was Kakashi.
In battle, he barely dared to use a few Raikiris before running out of chakra, often resorting to Earth Release tricks to stall.
Now, compare that to Gaara.
In an anime filler episode featuring the Land of Artisans arc, Gaara fought Seimei, claiming he had little chakra left—only to unleash a massive Sand Burial attack moments later.
Naruto lifted his hand, still holding the Great Spiraling Wheel Yu. "So, what should we do with this thing?"
Minato was stunned. He glanced at Kurama, then quickly looked away.
"Roar!"
Kurama suddenly let out a furious roar, as if realizing something. "Damn it! Fourth Hokage! What are you thinking?! I can sense your bad intentions!"
"Uh..." Minato's face flushed with embarrassment. He had forgotten that within this seal, Kurama could sense malicious intent. And right now, the chakra Minato was using still came from Kurama.
He had simply been thinking—since Naruto created this technique under Kurama's guidance, shouldn't Kurama be the one to deal with it?
Naruto's eyes flickered as he spoke calmly, "Father, Kurama, you both said this seal is very strong, right?"
Kurama flicked its head upward, already guessing Naruto's thoughts but choosing not to speak.
Minato also understood, but he frowned. "Naruto, you can't throw away a Rasengan. And if a chakra sphere of this level explodes on the iron gate, it could be dangerous for your mental consciousness..."
But Kurama interjected, "Naruto, link your chakra with me and use a chakra arm to grab it. Then, just toss it outside the iron gate."
Minato's eyes lit up. "That's right! That could work! Though it's different from the method I had in mind..."
Kurama's slit pupils narrowed dangerously. "Oh? Fourth Hokage, what were you planning to do?"
Naruto stayed silent. This plan was actually a good one. Ever since he and Kurama reconciled, linking their chakra had allowed him to be enveloped in a golden chakra cloak.
In previous experiments inside the seal, he had learned that his chakra could manifest as physical arms.
However, one thing remained unchanged—this chakra couldn't leave the iron gate.
If Naruto stepped out, the chakra cloak would be forcibly drawn back into Kurama, taking some of his own chakra with it and leaving him in a state of weakness.
Minato had been puzzled by this effect for a long time. His seal was designed to convert Kurama's chakra into Naruto's, so this shouldn't have happened.
To this day, he still hadn't figured out why his seal behaved this way.
"Thank you, Kurama!" Naruto smiled at the fox before walking toward the iron gate. His tone suddenly shifted. "I know that a Rasengan can't be thrown..."
"But this can!"
Minato's eyes widened. "What?!"
Naruto stretched his arm past the iron gate and flicked the Great Spiraling Wheel Yu forward.
As Minato stood in stunned silence, the black sphere soared through the air.
Naruto quickly pulled his father toward Kurama's paw. "Please, Kurama!"
Kurama glanced at the sphere outside the gate, which was about to hit the ground. In an instant, it wrapped its claws around Naruto and Minato, then curled up into a ball with its nine tails covering itself.
Boom—!
Before the Great Spiraling Wheel Yu even landed, it exploded.
A massive, terrifying shockwave radiated outward, engulfing the sealed space in blinding light.
Inside Kurama's protective embrace, Naruto and Minato could feel the entire space shaking.
After a while, once the residual energy had dissipated, Kurama uncurled itself and peered at the iron gate. Disappointment flickered in its eyes before it released Naruto and Minato.
"Hm? The seal actually cracked?"
Minato regained his vision and immediately looked shocked.
"Fourth Hokage, are you serious?!" Kurama's ears perked up.
Naruto quickly examined the seal himself. He had learned the Eight Trigrams Seal and could confirm that Minato was right—tiny cracks had indeed formed.
Back when he first learned the sealing technique, Naruto had asked his father whether he could break the seal himself. Minato had said it was impossible.
The only way to break it was with the key specifically designed for it—and the key created by one person couldn't be replicated by another.
At the time, Naruto had casually asked about breaking the Reaper Death Seal, but Minato had refused to answer.
Naruto hadn't pressed further, knowing the answer. Breaking the Reaper Death Seal required a life sacrifice, which Orochimaru had demonstrated by using a disposable body.
Confirming the cracks in the seal, Naruto extended his fist toward Kurama. No words were needed. Kurama immediately understood his intent.
A golden chakra cloak ignited around Naruto as he stepped past the iron gate.
Immediately, his golden chakra began dissipating rapidly, as if being torn away by a fierce wind.
Naruto frowned, expecting another wave of exhaustion—but then, the chakra stabilized.
However, its color changed.
A few breaths later, the remaining chakra had turned deep red, quickly covering his body in a semi-transparent form. Two fox-like ears appeared atop his head.
"Hm? This chakra... it's guiding my emotions?"
Naruto turned to the iron gate in confusion, two tails unconsciously swaying behind him.
"Yes! Just like when Kushina used it! I knew my seal was fine!" Minato cheered, missing the point entirely.
Kurama's eyes flashed in surprise, then darkened. "Fourth Hokage, aren't you celebrating too soon? Haven't you noticed Naruto is undergoing Tailed Beast transformation?"
Minato snapped to attention.
Yes, Naruto gaining Kurama's chakra outside the seal was expected—but it came with a price. His body had already begun manifesting Tailed Beast characteristics.
"Hah, finally caught up?" Kurama sneered. "Too late! The ANBU watching Naruto just ran off—definitely to report this to the Hokage."
Minato's face darkened. Hiruzen Sarutobi would surely come to check the seal. If he discovered Minato's existence...
"Naruto, get back inside! Kurama, retract the chakra! I'll reinforce the seal!"
Kurama's crimson eyes burned like molten blood. It looked at Naruto, then shut its eyes and lay down.
Naruto, still examining the changes in his chakra, shook his head.
"Father, even if the Third Hokage is a 'Ninjutsu Professor,' at most, he'll see the seal has cracked. He won't do anything to me. Don't worry—I can handle this myself."
Minato sighed. "I'm just worried... but the Third isn't a bad person. You don't have to be afraid of him..."
Naruto's eyes turned cold. His voice was devoid of emotion.
"Father, even if I were three years old, you should understand—real villains aren't scary."
"The truly terrifying ones are fake good people."
"And from the start, I said I'd break this seal. Why reinforce it?"
