Felene

Something smells... nice. I hear the sound of someone singing a beautiful lullaby.

Then, I heard approaching footsteps creaking against the wooden floorboards.

I feel warm hands shaking me awake.

No, it's cold?

"Wake up! Sho? Sho?!"

My eyes shot open as I grasped for air. I met the face of a strange slender woman with very beautiful eyes and strange silver-blonde hair.

She wore a long white dress, her skin pale, her light blue piercing gaze was like a long-lost sorceress—"Sho!"

I jolted, startled by her words. Her eyes searched mine.

"You've been sleeping all day. I made you some dinner."

I opened my mouth, searching for words, but she turned away before I could speak.

"Come on, you need to eat."

She exited the bedroom door.

Wait—bedroom?

I glanced around. Orange light pierced through the window, revealing a large black dresser next to it. An unlit lantern rested on a small stool, the floor a glossy brown, the air slightly cool.

Then, my eyes landed on a large mirror next to the doorframe in front of the bed.

I was different. I had black curly hair and hazel... I didn't finish.

I rolled off the bed, stumbling onto the ground. Quickly scrambling up, I raced to the mirror.

My fingers touched my face—familiar yet foreign."What is this?"

"Sho!"

Her voice rang from outside our bedroom.

Our bedroom?!

My gaze snapped left as I heard her storm back inside.

She gave me a concerned look. "Are you okay?"

Again, I couldn't find the words. I only stared at her, my expression wide-eyed.

Her brows knitted together. "Sho?"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened them, I muttered, "I—I'm fine."

Her eyes narrowed before she sighed, crossing her arms. "I don't like repeating myself." She turned away. "Come and eat."

I watched her go, then glanced back at the mirror.

I rubbed my fingers over my facial features one last time.

Kleyn…?

At that moment, confusion clouded my mind. I had many questions, but only one truly clicked:

Why do I look like him?

I couldn't understand why.

No.

I never understood.

My fingers started to tremble and my heart began to beat faster.

Thump... Thump...

That's all I heard as I stared at my reflection in silence.

The only thought that pierced my swirling mind, What is going on?

"Sho!"

Her voice broke me from my trance.

I shook my head quickly, then raced out of the bedroom.

There she was, sitting in front of a small wooden table with food already prepared. Her eyes were closed like she was waiting for me.

For some reason, I just looked around, taking in the new environment. A small kitchen with pots and uncooked food on a shiny counter. To my right, one intricate window on both sides of the front door. The walls were painted nicely green, and the floors of the living room were mostly clean.

My expression shifted. "Am I dreaming...?"

"Sho?"

Her voice caught my attention. She looked at me, tense.

"Are you going to sit and eat?"

Immediately, I straightened up and cleared my throat. "My apologies."

I sat across from her at the table. She shook her head and muttered, "What's with you today?" before taking a bite.

I closely examined her features. They looked... familiar.

Then, it hit me. "Your hair is like moonlit sand..."

Her brow furrowed. "What?"

I stood abruptly, my chair scraping against the floor.

I took a step back, and my heart started to race. "W-Who are you?"

Her frown deepened. She set down her utensil and rose. "Sho? Are you alright?"

I stumbled back on my ass, hitting my head against the green wall.

Thump.

"Sho?" She knelt before me.

Thump!!

"Sweety?" Her spectral hands slowly touched my cheeks.

Thump!!!

"What's wrong?" Her hands went down to my throat as she started to weep.

T-Thump!

"It's me, Felene!"

She strangled my neck.

I tried to struggle, yet all I was a mere speck.

The world darkened, and the only sounds that could be heard were the weeping of a strangling, ghostly woman.

What did I do?

Darkness has claimed you, but it is way too soon. Not yet.
