Chapter 93: The Next Move

Chris sat in his office, staring out at the city skyline. Blackwood had dominated the corporate world, and with the latest severance of ties, his power had only grown. Yet, something still felt unfinished.

Ethan entered without knocking, already sensing that Chris had something to say. He took his usual position across from the desk, his expression calm but expectant.

Chris finally turned away from the window and looked directly at him.

"I'm running for president."

For the first time in a long while, Ethan was momentarily silent. Then, a slow smirk formed on his face.

"Of course you are," he said, leaning back in his chair.

Chris raised a brow. "You don't seem surprised."

"I'd be more surprised if you weren't planning it. You've conquered business, built an empire no one dares to challenge, and now, you want absolute control. It's the next logical step."

Chris nodded. "Blackwood dominates the economy, but real power lies in politics. It's time I step into that arena."

Ethan chuckled, shaking his head. "You don't just 'step' into politics, Chris. You either play the game or rewrite the rules. And I'm guessing you plan to do the latter."

"Exactly."

Ethan's smirk widened. "Then we have work to do."

Chris folded his arms. "I want a strategy. I want my name on the ballots before they even realize what's happening. And most importantly, I want to win."

Ethan nodded. "Leave it to me. I'll assemble a team. But let's be clear, Chris—this will get dirty. The opposition won't just roll over because you're Blackwood."

Chris's eyes darkened.

"Then they'll learn what happens when you go against me."

Ethan chuckled. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Consider it done."

As Ethan left the office, Chris sat back, exhaling slowly.

The business world had bowed to him.

Now, it was time for the nation to do the same.
