Chapter 235: Trapped

Skylar paced the dimly lit warehouse, her mind racing. Every instinct screamed that something was wrong.

Ava stood near the entrance, peeking through a gap in the metal door. "We need to move," she muttered. "Now."

Skylar stopped. "You saw something?"

Ava turned to face her, eyes sharp. "No, and that's the problem. It's too quiet."

Skylar's stomach twisted. Ethan had found them. She was sure of it. And if Ethan had found them, then Chris wasn't far behind.

"We have to go," she said, grabbing the small duffel bag of supplies they had prepared. "There's a service exit in the back. If we're careful, we can slip out—"

Ava's phone buzzed. She checked the screen, and her face paled.

Skylar's pulse pounded. "What is it?"

Ava swallowed hard. "We're surrounded."

The words hit like a punch to the chest.

Skylar rushed to the nearest window, carefully pulling back the edge of the curtain.

Then she saw them.

Military vehicles. Seven of them.

Blocking every road. Every alley. Every possible escape route.

Her breath caught in her throat.

This wasn't just Ethan anymore.

Chris was coming.

Ava exhaled sharply. "How the hell did he mobilize that fast?"

Skylar forced herself to think. Chris didn't play fair. He never had. She had underestimated how far he was willing to go.

And now, there was no easy way out.

Ava turned to her. "We need a plan, and we need it now."

Skylar took a shaky breath, shoving down the fear. Think. Move. Stay ahead.

But deep down, she knew—Chris had planned this moment long before she ever stepped into this warehouse.
