Chapter 326: A Lesson in Power

Christiana's POV

The moment Christiana stepped into school the next morning, she already knew everyone had heard.

Gossip spread like wildfire, especially when it involved a Blackwood.

And Elena Carter?

She had walked into the gala thinking she could be one of them—only to be thrown out like she was nothing.

Christiana spotted Elena near the lockers, trying—and failing—to keep her head high. She looked exhausted.

Good.

Christiana smirked as she strolled up beside her, deliberately slow, letting the tension build.

"Rough night, Elena?"

Elena tensed but didn't look at her. Coward.

Christiana laughed softly. "Oh, don't ignore me now. Last week, you thought you were important enough to sit at my father's table."

That got a reaction.

Elena's jaw clenched, her hands curling into fists. She hated being reminded.

"I didn't do anything wrong," Elena muttered.

Christiana raised an eyebrow. "Oh, honey." She leaned in slightly, voice dropping. "You did everything wrong."

Elena's face burned with humiliation.

Christiana tilted her head. "Let me guess—you thought Classic inviting you actually meant something? That my father would just… accept you?" She let out a short laugh. "You're delusional."

Elena's grip tightened on her books.

"Classic likes me," she said, trying to sound confident. "That should matter."

Christiana blinked. Then she burst out laughing.

People nearby started watching now, sensing something was happening. Elena had just embarrassed herself without even realizing it.

"Oh, you poor thing," Christiana said mockingly. "You really think Classic's opinion decides anything?" She took a step closer, lowering her voice so only Elena could hear.

"Let me make this clear—" Christiana's eyes darkened, her voice sharp. "My father decides who stays and who doesn't. And you?" She smiled cruelly. "You didn't even last a night."

Elena looked away, blinking rapidly—trying not to cry.

Pathetic.

Christiana leaned back, satisfied.

"Next time," she added sweetly, "know your place before you embarrass yourself again."

Then, without another glance, she turned and walked away, leaving Elena standing there—broken.
