Chris's POV
The world was watching.
Chris stood before the cameras in the grand hall of the Blackwood Palace, dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit with the royal crest pinned to his chest. The room was adorned with banners of the Blackwood Empire, and seated before him were the most powerful individuals in the world—foreign dignitaries, elite families, business moguls, and high-ranking officials.
At his right, Ethan and Cole stood like statues, ready to act at a moment's notice.
At his left, Classic sat with a composed expression, though Chris knew his son well enough to notice the slight tension in his jaw. He hadn't expected this.
The cameras were rolling, broadcasting live across the empire and beyond.
Chris adjusted his cufflinks before speaking, his voice smooth but absolute.
"The Blackwood Empire has risen to heights no nation has ever achieved. Our power is unmatched, our influence stretches beyond borders, and our legacy is secured."
A calculated pause.
"But as every empire must ensure its future, so too must the Blackwood name."
A murmur spread through the room, anticipation thick in the air.
Chris glanced toward Classic, his expression unreadable.
"Today, I am pleased to announce that my son, Crown Prince Classic Blackwood, is now open for courtship."
Gasps. Shock. And then—chaos.
Elite families whispered urgently among themselves. Foreign royals exchanged knowing looks. The Blackwood heir was available.
Classic's posture remained straight, but Chris caught the flicker of irritation in his son's eyes. He should have told him beforehand.
Too late now.
Chris continued, undisturbed.
"Suitors of noble standing, wealth, and unwavering loyalty to the empire may submit their intent for consideration. The future Empress must not only be worthy of my son—but of the Blackwood throne itself."
His gaze sharpened.
"This is not an invitation for the weak. Only those who understand power may step forward."
The declaration was final.
Chris turned slightly, locking eyes with Classic. A silent message passed between them.
"This is how the game is played, son."
And whether Classic liked it or not, the entire world now knew.
The hunt for his future Empress had begun.
