(Chris Blackwood's POV)
I let King Salman's words settle, then leaned forward, my fingers tapping lightly against the armrest of my chair.
"Your daughter is your Crown Princess, but Classic is also my Crown Prince. What will happen when we are no more or step down?"
I looked at him sharply. "That's the real question, isn't it?" My voice was calm, but the weight behind it was unmistakable. "Are you suggesting a future where my children turn against each other?"
King Salman's expression remained unreadable, but Prince Khalid, seated beside him, gave a knowing smirk.
"Two heirs. Two thrones. One future."
I turned my gaze to Princess Amal, who had remained quiet throughout. She met my eyes for the briefest moment before looking away.
Then I spoke again. "Classic is my Crown Prince. Christiana is my Crown Princess. But in the end, there can only be one ruler. So tell me, Your Majesty—" I paused, letting the tension build. "—how do you propose we solve this?"
King Salman exhaled. "That depends. Will Classic take the throne alone, or will Christiana challenge him for it?"
I studied him. "And if she does?"
"Then you already know what happens next."
