Chapter 364: “A Kingdom in Motion”

(Chris Blackwood's POV – Months Later)

The world had adjusted—or at least, it had tried to.

The engagement between Classic and Amal had dominated global headlines for months. The union of two of the most powerful royal families had sent shockwaves through political and financial circles, forcing alliances to shift and new power dynamics to emerge.

But beneath the surface, something more dangerous was brewing.

I sat in my private office, reviewing the latest intelligence reports. Ethan stood by the window, arms crossed, his expression unreadable.

"Unrest is growing," he said finally.

I glanced up. "Define unrest."

Ethan turned, his sharp eyes meeting mine. "There's resistance forming, and not just from outsiders. Some within our own ranks are questioning the direction of this empire."

I leaned back in my chair, fingers tapping against the polished desk. This was expected. Power always bred resistance. But the fact that Ethan was bringing it to my attention now meant it was more than just whispers.

"Who?" I asked.

Ethan hesitated for half a second before answering. "Some nobles. A faction in the military. And..." He exhaled. "Christiana."

My jaw tightened.

"Explain."

"She's been vocal about her concerns. She believes Classic is being pushed into a role he doesn't want."

I exhaled through my nose. Christiana had always been passionate, but she had never openly defied my vision before.

"And what does Classic say?"

Ethan smirked slightly. "He's playing it carefully. Publicly, he's embracing his position. Privately… he's watching. Waiting."

Smart.

"And Amal?"

Ethan's smirk faded. "She's not as passive as she seems. The Saudis have been consolidating power behind the scenes. If Classic is not careful, he could become a pawn in their game instead of the other way around."

My fingers stopped tapping.

This was the real concern. The marriage was supposed to strengthen the empire, not divide it. If Amal's family had their own agenda, Classic would need to act decisively before he was backed into a corner.

I stood, adjusting my cuffs. "Schedule a meeting with Classic."

Ethan nodded but didn't move immediately. He studied me for a moment before speaking again.

"And if Christiana continues to interfere?"

I met his gaze, my voice cold and absolute.

"Then she will be reminded of her place."
