Chapter 416: The Hidden Report

Ethan Carter

The world believed Chris Blackwood was dead.

But I knew the truth. And he knew everything.

I made my way through the hidden corridors beneath the palace, where no one could follow. No guards. No cameras. Only silence.

At the end of the passage, I knocked once. A single, quiet signal.

The door opened.

Chris stood there, his expression unreadable, his presence as commanding as ever. He was no longer the king in the eyes of the world, but in this room? He was still in control.

I stepped inside, closing the door behind me.

"It's done," I said simply.

Chris took a slow breath, his gaze sharp. "Tell me everything."

I handed him a small, encrypted tablet. The full report—every detail, every move, every hidden piece of information. But he didn't look at it yet.

He wanted to hear my words.

"The Prime Minister is still in place," I began. "Skylar ensured that. She made a public stand and sealed it with her authority."

Chris showed no reaction, but I knew he was analyzing every sentence.

"She did it to protect stability, not the man," I continued. "She's keeping him as a shield for now. But the cracks are already forming. His allies are pulling away. His influence is fading. If we press the right way, he'll collapse under his own weight."

Chris remained silent, his fingers tapping lightly against the armrest. Thinking. Calculating.

"And Classic?" he finally asked.

I nodded. "He's waiting. He hasn't acted yet, but he isn't satisfied with how this played out. He's watching Skylar, watching the Prime Minister… and watching for any sign of weakness."

Chris exhaled slowly, his gaze distant. "Good."

I studied him carefully. He had been testing everyone. Watching who would break, who would stand, who would betray.

And he wasn't done.

"Your orders?" I asked.

Chris finally picked up the tablet, scrolling through the data. He was reading between the lines, seeing the patterns only he could see.

Then, in a voice that was both calm and deadly, he said:

"Continue."

That was all.

But I understood.

The game was still in motion. And Chris Blackwood was still the one controlling the board.
