Chapter 453: The New Order

Ethan Carter – A Shift in Power

The press hall was packed—journalists from around the world, high-ranking officials, and elite members of the empire had gathered. The air was thick with anticipation. Chris had been silent for too long since his return. Now, the world was about to witness his first official announcement.

I stood at the side of the grand stage, watching as the King took his seat. Dressed in an all-black royal suit, exuding nothing but absolute authority, Chris barely needed to speak to command attention.

The cameras were live.

He leaned into the microphone, his voice steady and final.

"The Blackwood Empire stands unchallenged. And yet, within these walls, there has been betrayal, weakness, and ambition disguised as loyalty. That ends today."

The crowd remained silent. Listening. Hanging onto every word.

Chris glanced in my direction before continuing.

"To ensure absolute order, I have restructured the empire's power. Effective immediately, Ethan Carter will take on a new role as the Supreme Chancellor of the Empire."

A murmur spread through the audience. A role above the generals, above the ministers—a position that only answered to the King himself.

But Chris wasn't finished.

He leaned back, eyes sharp, as if he had saved the real shock for last.

"And as for my daughter, Christiana Blackwood…" He paused, letting the tension build.

"A new title has been created for her. A role no one has ever held before."

The murmurs grew louder. I watched Christiana from the side—she remained still, her expression unreadable.

Chris smirked. "The Dictator of the Blackwood Empire."

Gasps erupted in the room.

I barely masked my own surprise. A Dictator? A position that gave her the near-total authority of a Prime Minister but with direct executive control over the military, law enforcement, and internal affairs?

Chris continued, unfazed.

"She will have the power to act with my authority. To command as I would. But let there be no mistake—her power exists because I allow it."**

His eyes darkened as he added,

"The Empire is reborn. Those who serve will thrive. Those who betray… well, you all know what happens to traitors."

The press conference ended in chaos—questions shouted, analysts scrambling to process what had just been declared.

But I knew one thing.

Chris had just changed the game.

And the world would never be the same.
