Chapter 510: A King’s Decision

Ethan's POV

The war room had barely settled when Chris spoke again. His voice was calm, measured—but the weight of his words instantly shifted the air.

"I'm going to attend the World Union meeting."

I barely raised a brow. Of course, he was. Even after withdrawing the Blackwood Empire from every global governing body, the world still revolved around his movements.

Classic, however, looked mildly surprised.

Chris continued before anyone could question him.

"And I will take my right hand and the Dictator."

Silence.

Then, I noticed it—the way Classic's expression flickered, just for a second. Shock. Confusion. A touch of something else.

Because he was not included.

Christiana smirked, clearly pleased. "I assume we won't be sitting in the audience."

Chris barely acknowledged her. His focus remained on Classic, as if waiting to see how he would react.

Classic finally spoke, his voice controlled. "And I am not needed?"

Chris leaned back in his chair. "You are needed, but not for this."

A pause.

"Your test is still ongoing. You rule in my absence. If I take you with me, then the throne remains incomplete. And that," Chris let the words sink in, "is not an option."

Classic's jaw tightened slightly, but he said nothing.

I glanced at him, reading the layers beneath his silence. He was adjusting to power, learning the weight of decisions. But now? He was being reminded of something else—that even as acting ruler, Chris was still the true power behind the empire.

I turned back to Chris.

"When do we leave?" I asked.

Chris smirked. "Tonight."
