Sarah sat at her desk, typing away on her computer. She was working on a project that was due soon, and she was determined to get it done on time.
Just as she was getting into the zone, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and saw that it was an unknown number.
"Hello?" she answered, hesitantly.
"Sarah, I need to see you," a low, gravelly voice said on the other end of the line.
Sarah's heart skipped a beat. "Who is this?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I'm someone who needs to talk to you," the voice replied. "Can you meet me outside the company building?"
Sarah hesitated for a moment. Something didn't feel right. But then, her curiosity got the better of her.
"Okay, I'll be right there," she said, trying to sound calm.
As she hung up the phone, Alexander looked up from his computer, a curious expression on his face.
"Everything okay?" he asked, pretending like he hadn't overheard the conversation.
Sarah nodded, trying to play it cool. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just need to... uh... take a break."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. Sarah quickly gathered her things and snuck out of the office, trying not to draw attention to herself.
As she walked out of the building, she looked around, expecting to see someone waiting for her. But there was no one.
She pulled out her phone and was about to call the unknown number again when a hefty man popped out of nowhere and gave her a blow to the head.
Sarah felt herself falling to the ground, her vision blurring. She tried to cry out, but her voice was muffled.
As she lay there, she saw three other hefty men in black suits emerge from the shadows. They dragged her to a black SUV and tossed her inside.
Sarah was disoriented and confused, but she knew she had to try and escape. She struggled against her captors, but they were too strong.
Just as they were about to drive away, a sleek white sports car screeched to a halt in front of them. A handsome CEO stepped out of the driver's seat, a gun in his hand.
"Let her go," he growled, his eyes blazing with anger.
The men in black suits sneered at him, but the CEO didn't back down. He walked up to the SUV and started fighting the men, his movements swift and deadly.
Sarah watched in amazement as the CEO took down her captors one by one. He didn't shoot them, but instead used his martial arts skills to disarm them.
When the fight was over, the CEO turned to Sarah and helped her out of the SUV.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning her face.
Sarah nodded, still shaken. "Y-yes, I think so."
The CEO nodded and pulled out his phone. "I'll call the police and get them to take care of these guys."
As they waited for the police to arrive, Sarah couldn't help but stare at the CEO. He was handsome and confident, and he had just saved her life.
"Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The CEO smiled and nodded. "You're welcome. My name is Kayla, by the way."
Sarah's eyes widened in surprise. "Kayla? As in, Kayla, the CEO of Slim Kay's Industries?"
Ryder nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "The one and only."
Sarah couldn't believe it. She had heard of Slim Kay's Industries, of course. They were one of the biggest and most successful companies in the world.
As the police arrived and took away the men in black suits, Kayla turned to Sarah and said, "I think it's time we got you out of here. My helicopter is waiting for us. We can take it to my estate, where you'll be safe."
Sarah nodded, still feeling a bit dazed. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew she could trust Kayla.
As they walked to the helicopter, Sarah couldn't help but wonder what had just happened. Who were those men in black suits, and why had they tried to kidnap her?
And what did Kayla have to do with it all?CHAPTER 13: THE KIDNAPPING
