Encounters in the Gobhill Forest (part-2)

After a while;

In an open space area, dozens of goblins gathered around. Silver was seen standing in front of a drunken goblin with thick arms and legs, wobbling left and right with a bottle of alcohol in his hand.

"5 minutes," The Goblin King raised five of his fingers and put forth the challenge for the human, "Survive for five minutes and I'll form the contract."

*

"5 minutes, huh?" Silver took a glance to left and right, observing his surroundings, "Surviving under the onslaught of a Goblin King will be tough. There is a stark difference between Tier-3 and Tier-4 even among humans. And this is a Goblin King before me. In case I couldn't do it. I should look for ways to escape, too."

*

Silver equipped his Epic-quality bow that enhanced his magic attack power by 20% and conjured a basic energy arrow, taking the initiative to attack.

The Goblin King didn't even react to it. He just stood there wobbling left and right as he got struck by the arrow, right in the middle of his chest.

However, not even a scratch was left on his body.

"Eek!" Mark's face went pale as he saw the result of the attack, "Silver is at Tier-2 and yet, he couldn't leave a scratch on this beast's body. The Goblin King is surely on a whole another level."

*Hiccup*

The Goblin King raised the bottle and drank another sip of rice wine before staring back at Silver, who was in the middle of activating a skill. He waited until another arrow was conjured by Silver but with a lightning element imbued in it and laughed out loud, "Hahahaha, Myshhhh turrrnn…"

With a kick against the ground, the Goblin King charged forward as Silver released the lightning arrow at the same time.

The Goblin King didn't dodge it either and just faced it head-on; nope, it was like he blatantly decided to ignore it.

But, when the lightning arrow struck him, the Goblin King's movements instantly halted, and that momentum from the earlier charge made him trip his body and fall down, sliding on the ground.

The lightning effect also activated and the monster was paralyzed for a moment.

Silver took this opportunity to jump high and aim at his opponent. By the time the paralysis wore off, a fire arrow was unleashed by Silver.

"The Arrow of Firebird"

As the arrow made of flames left the bow, it transformed into a bird and struck the Goblin's back.

"Argh…" A painful scream or a roar escaped from the Goblin King as his insides were burned by the phoenix flames, which ignored his tough defense and directly entered his body to inflict damage inwardly.

"Yes," Silver couldn't help but clench his fist as he landed on the ground, "The phoenix flames won't die. So, that means I just have to wait and… huh?"

A layer of blue aura suddenly enveloped the Goblin King, and in the next second, his body slowly grew bigger and bigger.

As it got up, the Goblin King no longer looked like some 3-4ft goblin with muscles. He looked more like a half-giant, towering at 9ft tall and atleast 3ft wide with bulging muscles.

"Graaa…"

He let out a powerful roar, making even his fellow goblins shiver.

"F**k. It has to go into berserk mode now of all times," Silver's face stiffened up, seeing its level increase in a drastic manner. He couldn't help but let out a bitter smile, "I see, this is why the goblin elder put forth the condition to survive, not defeat it. I should have just focused on survival. But now, there are still more than 3 and a half minutes left. Fuu… let's calm down. If its body size and strength increased, its speed should have been decreased. Since it is a fighter-type beast, I need to focus on maintaining distance."

After formulating his strategy, Silver removed his equipment and placed them in the storage pouch one after another except for his bow, taking the spectators by surprise.

"Silver, what are you doing?" Mark couldn't help but shout in panic. "Are you crazy?"

"It is a brilliant plan," a reply came from behind. As he turned his head, he found the hooded player standing behind him. Mark startled at once, "Nash… when did you appear behind me?"

The hooded player didn't give a reply and placed his gaze on his brother, "Did you forget Silver was an archer? Archers are supposed to be nimble in the first place. Now, without that heavy armor…"

"He is a lot faster?" Before he could voice it out, Mark's eyes quickly captured the moment as the Goblin King charged forward to punch Silver but the latter swiftly dodged to the side, although just by a hairbreadth. "Eek…" The force generated by its fist pushed the air, creating a gust of wind. Fortunately for the goblins, their height is low enough to avoid it.

Meanwhile, Silver, who dodged the punch, became serious, "I underestimated it once again." His gaze momentarily fell upon the Epic-grade bow that weighs over 70 kg. "It looks like I have no choice."

Even the bow was sent back into a storage pouch hanging on his waist, making him even faster.

"Good, let's up it a bit more…"

Silver went on taking out what looked like a dumpling from his storage pouch and quickly munched on it as he dodged the fist of the Goblin king.

Once he finished everything, a blue layer formed around his skin.

It is a crimson potato dumpling, a type of food that increases one's attributes for atleast half an hour. However, the effect was entirely random. Moreover, if one eats a second dumpling, the effects of the first dumpling will be gone.

Silver wanted more speed, but the dumpling, upon being eaten, digested in a matter of ten seconds and gave him a layer of scarlet aura around his body, meaning his physical strength was increased.

Since it didn't give him what he wanted, Silver continued to maintain his distance and focused on dodging while munching on the dumplings one after another.

After three tries, he finally received a speed boost.

With a speed boost, Silver no longer had seen a situation where he had to evade the Goblin King by a hair's breadth. The Goblin King no longer could see any hope of catching him too.

The Goblin King was getting more agitated every second but his heavy muscled body was used against it by its opponent who was focused on wasting time.

There's a little over 20 seconds left for the wager to be completed and Silver looked a bit tired by extreme movements but still seemed like he could manage it with ease.

"Graaaa…"

The Goblin King's berserk aura rose even further; his strength reaching Tier-5 temporarily. He pushed away Silver with a wave of his roar and charged forward as Silver crashed to the ground.

It was then Nash suddenly shrouded by the aura of pitch darkness, taking Mark by surprise. The hooded teenager summoned his other dagger, tightly gripping the twin daggers with a cold face.

"Wait, you can't…"

Nash disappeared from his side and charged forward. He reached his brother in a flash, appearing in between the Goblin King and Silver in a timely manner.

His twin daggers in cross position acted as a defense against the fist of the Goblin King. But, the power of a Tier-5 exceeded his blade's durability and defenses; the daggers were broken like a glass and the goblin king's fist struck him directly on the chest.

Nash flew away like a bolt, crashing onto the tree nearby and falling to the ground with a loud thud.

Silver couldn't even fathom what happened for a moment, "Nash…" He screamed.

The Goblin King, in his hoarse tone, growled, "You cheated. You all die…"

*Graaa*

Everyone picked up their weapons.

Hostility rose from Silver's friends, and the goblins who could sense the change in the situation also panicked.

Some picked up weapons to fight against the humans in fear of getting killed; they surrounded them and hurled insults without holding back.

The weak goblins and little ones ran away into their huts.

The Goblin King, meanwhile, growled in rage, one more time, tightening his fist and gathering the Astron energy from his core, "You cheated. You die."

*rumble* *rumble*

At once, piercing loud thunder was heard from the sky, making everyone shut their ears involuntarily, followed by the descent of a lightning bolt that struck the Goblin King directly on his head, turning its body into ash before everyone blinked their eyes twice. Not even the goblin's core remained intact.

The mosskin goblins were terrified by the death of their strongest warrior, and half of them fled without any hesitation, and the other half was too afraid to move from their spots. But everyone's eyes were stuck on the sky, where a silver-haired boy was slowly descending to the ground, riding on a winged black horse; a beautiful maiden was accompanying him, flying on her own.
