Chapter 88: The Low - key Rich Man! Visiting the Fire Dragon!

"No problem! I'll ask Aragog for help! Once Professor Dumbledore sets a time for you, we'll go to The Forbidden Forest together!"

Hagrid readily agreed to this without thinking too much. He unconditionally supported the plan involving Dumbledore and Dudley.

"What are the other two things?" Hagrid asked again.

"The remaining two things are my personal matters. I need your help, Hagrid!"

"No problem! I'm always happy to help a friend!"

As Dudley and Hagrid talked, it seemed they had reached some kind of unequal agreement.

Dudley stood up and started to act very nimbly.

He looked around the furnishings in Hagrid's house, walked to the corner, picked up a dirty blanket, patted off the dust, revealing the white base color of the blanket, and asked,

"What's this?"

"It's a dirty blanket. What's the problem?" Hagrid was very puzzled.

"I'm asking what this blanket is made from."

Dudley pressed further. He knew Hagrid wasn't showing off on purpose; Hagrid really didn't treat the treasures as anything special.

"Oh! You're asking about this! It's made from the shed hair of a unicorn," Hagrid suddenly realized and replied.

"What about this?" Dudley picked up a large string of grayish - looking ornaments on the wall.

Hagrid got into the groove and directly replied, "That's made from the hoof trimmings of a centaur. I made it into a toy."

"What about this bedsheet?"

"It's woven from the silk spun by an Acromantula."

"What about this broom?"

"The short handle is made from the horn of a unicorn that died of natural causes, and the bristles in front are the tail hairs of a Thestral."

"And this brush?"

"It's made from the stiff hairs on Aragog's legs."

"..."

After about twenty minutes, with the help of the System's appraisal function, Dudley had a sharp eye and discovered dozens of unassuming daily items made from the materials of magical creatures in Hagrid's house and gathered them all together.

This left Hagrid a bit confused. "Dudley, what are you doing gathering these things together? They're all pretty useless."

"Useless?!"

Dudley immediately raised his voice. "My dear, innocent Hagrid! If those wizards who are into potions, alchemy, and wand - making saw these things, they'd fight each other to a pulp!

If you sold these, you could get at least a hundred thousand Galleons."

"How much?! Did you say how much?!"

Hagrid was also shocked. "So I sold them too cheaply before? Those Dark Wizards in Knockturn Alley really are no good!"

"You sold them cheaply before?!"

Dudley was so heartbroken that he could hardly breathe. He took several deep breaths before he could calm down.

"I did sell some to get some pocket money, but not many. I never deliberately collected these things. There are plenty of them in The Forbidden Forest. If you want, I'll collect more for you in the future."

Hagrid seemed very calm, like a super - rich man who had returned to simplicity.

"That'd be great! Collect more for me in the future. I'll put them to good use.

Dudley was extremely thick - skinned and didn't stand on ceremony with Hagrid. "Also, I need wood to make wand shafts. In the future, when you're in The Forbidden Forest, keep an eye out for trees where Bowtruckles live. Those trees are all suitable for making wands."

"No problem! Leave it to me! You don't need much wood to make wands. I'll saw off some thick branches from big trees for you. You can make as many wands as you want."

Hagrid was super generous. The Forbidden Forest was his own little turf. As long as the lives of magical creatures weren't endangered, he had plenty of materials to spare.

Dudley was very satisfied. He immediately reached out and drew a big circle in the air to open the spatial passage of his Personal Space.

First, he took out a lump of gold from his Personal Space and handed it to Hagrid. Then he put away all the valuable things in Hagrid's house.

"Dudley, what are you doing? I don't want your gold. Dumbledore has given me a lot of Galleons recently. I'm not short of money," Hagrid declined.

"Take it, Hagrid! This lump of gold is far from being worth the things you've given me. Go to Diagon Alley and buy yourself a new set of furniture with it!"

When he had enough money, Dudley wasn't a stingy person. If it hadn't been only a little over a month since he got the Pure Gold Transmutation Technique and he hadn't accumulated much gold, he would have given Hagrid several more big gold bars!

He'll make it up later when he has more gold.

Dudley thought to himself silently. Hagrid reluctantly accepted Dudley's kindness and began to ask about the last thing Dudley needed.

"Well, this last thing is like this. I need you to go to a place right today and get a wand for me. Just go there and come back quickly. Don't ask about anything else. This matter involves a lot."

Dudley seriously tasked Hagrid with getting Voldemort's wand. This was just a simple errand. As long as nothing went wrong on the way, there wouldn't be the slightest bit of danger. It was just right for Hagrid to do it.

Currently at Hogwarts, besides Harry, the person he trusted the most was Hagrid. Even Dumbledore had to take a back seat.

He was at ease leaving this matter to Hagrid.

...

After discussing the matter, Dudley and Hagrid left the stone house and went together to the dragon shed that Hagrid had built.

Seeing is believing.

Dudley wanted to see what kind of creatures the goblins from Gringotts had sent him.

The dragon shed wasn't far from Hagrid's house. After walking a few steps, they could see a half - exposed stone fort in the distance that was slightly smoking. It was twice as big as Hagrid's own house.

"Blom! Nori! I'm coming to see you!"

Hagrid shouted from afar. He had already given the two fire dragons new names and was calling them very affectionately.

In response to Hagrid's call, two weak and low dragon roars came from the dragon shed.

To Dudley, these two dragon roars were no better than a leopard's growl. They were quite pathetic.

After a while, the two finally reached the inside of the dragon shed.

Dudley saw for the first time the compensation the goblins from Gringotts had given him: two listless, old and weak Norwegian Ridgebacks lying lazily on the ground.

"These damned goblin merchants!"

You only part with something when you're really forced to!

Dudley raised his hand to cast the Shield Charm on himself. Then he swaggered closer to the fire dragon that was firmly chained in the semi-open compartment of the dragon shed.

"Dudley, be careful!" Hagrid quickly followed and reminded him.

"Don't fret. I got this!"
