Chapter 1: The Clash
The air in the sleek corporate office was thick with unspoken hostility, the kind that crackled like a storm about to break.
At the center of the tension, Vincent Graves sat behind the massive mahogany desk, perfectly composed. His tailored suit was crisp, his fingers resting lightly against the surface as if he had all the time in the world. Across from him, Zane Harrington leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, expression sharp with barely concealed annoyance.
"If you think I'm going to let you take control of what's rightfully mine, you're even more delusional than I thought." His voice was laced with irritation, but his smirk didn't waver.
Vincent didn't even blink. "I'm not taking control. I'm ensuring this deal doesn't fall apart because of reckless decisions." His tone was calm, cutting like a blade wrapped in silk.
A scoff. "Reckless? You mean not bending over and letting you dictate everything like you own me?"
His rival's lips curled into a faint smirk. "If that's what you want to call it."
Zane bristled . This was exactly why they clashed—one of them always had to have the upper hand, and neither was willing to back down.
The Business Deal
A multi-million-dollar family inheritance was at stake, something neither of them could afford to lose.
Legal contracts had already been drawn up, but there was one problem—they had to work together to secure it.
Zane leaned forward, voice dropping into something more dangerous. "You don't control me, and you sure as hell don't control this deal. If we have to work together, fine. But don't think for a second that I'll let you walk all over me."
Vincent tilted his head slightly, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Then try to keep up."
The tension in the room was palpable. This was war, and neither was planning to lose.
