Chapter 58: Stepping into the Mist

When Kyle, Elsa, Morgan, Cavin, Alicia, and Lynn stood at the entrance of the Holy Land Canyon, the scene before their eyes was like a mysterious and magnificent scroll. A strong sense of shock instantly enveloped them. On both sides of the canyon, the cliffs towered into the clouds like giants. They were composed of strange spirit tree ores, emitting a faint light. The textures of the ores were like mysterious symbols engraved by the passage of time, telling long stories. Colorful mist curled up from the depths of the canyon, like a dreamy passage leading to an unknown world. It spread wantonly at the entrance, concealing the scene inside the canyon, making people even more curious and awestruck.

"This is the Holy Land Canyon..." Kyle murmured to himself, tightly gripping his stardust long sword. The starlight flickering on the sword echoed the tension and anticipation in his eyes. Elsa stood beside him. Her ice-blue eyes were like a deep and cold pool, with curiosity and vigilance intertwined. She held her ice staff firmly in her hand, feeling the elusive and subtle fluctuations of the spirit tree energy around her. Morgan jumped up and down on the spot excitedly. Although he knew that there were thorns and dangers ahead, the adventurous spirit in his bones, like a burning flame, drove him to eagerly step into this mysterious realm. Cavin pushed his glasses, and his eyes behind the lenses sparkled with wisdom. He carefully observed the surrounding environment, and his magical detection tool, under his skilled operation, kept trying to capture useful information. Lynn took a deep breath. As a native of the Colorful Spirit Tree Star Domain, he knew a little about the legends of the Holy Land Canyon, but standing at the entrance of the canyon, he couldn't help feeling a layer of unease in his heart. Alicia extended the perception of an interstellar guardian. Her consciousness was like an invisible net, carefully scanning the surroundings. Her keen intuition told her that there were huge crises lurking in this canyon, like beasts hidden in the dark, ready to pounce at any moment.

Everyone exchanged a look, and determination and trust were conveyed in their eyes. Then they resolutely stepped into the Holy Land Canyon. As soon as they entered, the thick mist engulfed them like a tide, and their vision was instantly blurred, as if they were in a chaotic world. Kyle took every step carefully, as if his feet were stepping on clouds. His eyes were fixed on the front, trying to find a clear outline in the mist. Elsa cast her ice magic, and a thin layer of ice mist slowly formed around everyone, trying to resist the possible dangers from the outside world and also hoping to make the thick mist around them thinner. However, the mist in the canyon seemed to have a life of its own. The ice mist was quickly and mercilessly integrated by the colorful mist and disappeared without a trace, without playing any substantial role.

"Everyone, be careful. The environment here is much more complex than we imagined," Lynn's voice sounded faintly in the mist, with a trace of unhidden worry, like a bell in the fog, echoing in everyone's hearts. Morgan looked around curiously as he walked. Suddenly, he felt a tight grip on his feet, as if being held tightly by an invisible hand. "Ah! What is this?" he shouted in horror, his voice echoing in the mist with a trace of trembling. Everyone quickly gathered around, and they saw that Morgan's feet were tightly entangled by several black thorns. The thorns flashed with a strange black light, as if flaunting their evil power.

"These are Shadow Thorns!" Lynn's face changed suddenly, and he shouted in reminder, "Everyone, don't touch them. These thorns are attached with dark power and will quickly erode the body!" Kyle reacted quickly and immediately brandished his stardust long sword. The stardust power shone like a brilliant shooting star and instantly cut off the thorns wrapped around Morgan's feet. Morgan felt as if he had been released from prison and quickly jumped away. He looked at the cut thorns on the ground with lingering fear. They were like dying vipers, twisting a few times on the ground before gradually stopping struggling.

"Whoo, that was close," Morgan patted his chest, and the fear in his voice hadn't dissipated yet. "We can't be the least bit careless. The Shadow Thorns may be lurking everywhere in this area," Elsa frowned, her tone full of vigilance. Everyone nodded, and their steps became more cautious. Every step was like a test, and they carefully observed the ground under their feet, for fear of being attacked by the Shadow Thorns again.

As they walked, a charming fragrance quietly filled the mist. Cavin immediately covered his nose and shouted in a flustered tone, "Not good. This may be the fragrance of the Enchanting Flower. Everyone, hold your breath!" However, some of the fragrance, like cunning thieves, sneaked into everyone's nostrils. Morgan's eyes began to glaze over. He seemed to be in a lively and extraordinary celebration, and everyone around was cheering his name. "Haha, look, everyone is cheering for me!" Morgan giggled and walked forward with unsteady steps.

"Morgan, wake up!" Kyle saw this and immediately rushed over to hold Morgan tightly. He shook Morgan's shoulders vigorously with both hands, trying to shake him awake from the illusory dream. Elsa also quickly cast her ice magic, creating a gust of biting wind, trying to disperse the fragrance that filled the air. Under Kyle's shaking and the blowing of the cold wind, Morgan gradually regained his clarity. He looked at his worried companions and scratched his head in embarrassment. "Sorry, I just now..."

"It's okay. Everyone has to be careful. The fragrance of the Enchanting Flower is too dangerous," Kyle comforted. Everyone continued to move forward. To avoid inhaling the fragrance of the Enchanting Flower, they tightly covered their mouths and noses with their clothes and quickened their pace, hoping to escape this dangerous area as soon as possible.

While avoiding the attacks of the Shadow Thorns and the Enchanting Flower, everyone was also trying their best to find the way forward. Cavin kept adjusting the parameters of the magical detection tool, trying to capture a clue from the complex environment. However, the environment in the canyon was too strange. The needle of the detection tool swung wildly, like a spinning top out of control, and simply couldn't give an accurate direction.

"This won't work. We have to think of a way," Kyle said anxiously, his brows tightly furrowed. Lynn looked around, trying to find some familiar signs. But in this canyon filled with mist and strange rocks, everything seemed so unfamiliar, as if they were in a brand-new world with no reference to rely on. Elsa closed her eyes and concentrated, trying to find the direction with her keen perception of the elements. But in this environment full of mist and chaos, her perception also became blurred.

Suddenly, Alicia had an idea and said, "Look, the shapes of these strange rocks seem to have some kind of pattern. We can use this as a reference to determine the direction." Everyone followed her guidance and carefully observed the strange rocks around. Sure enough, they found that the arrangement of the strange rocks seemed to present some kind of irregular pattern. Lynn thought for a moment and said, "Maybe we can walk in the direction where the strange rocks are relatively densely arranged. Maybe we can find a way out." Everyone thought it made sense and then moved forward in that direction.

However, the road ahead was full of hardships. Along the way, the Shadow Thorns appeared like ghosts. Kyle and Alicia, with their powerful combat capabilities, cut off the thorns again and again, escorting everyone. The fragrance of the Enchanting Flower also wafted over from time to time like a ghost. Everyone could only carefully avoid it.

As time passed, everyone's physical strength was gradually consumed, and their spirits became more and more tense.
