Chapter 2

Looking at the source of the sound, a woman in a white coat tightly embraced Alec.

Her hands firmly gripped his waist.

Still in a daze, I stood rooted to the spot, not yet grasping the situation.

He had already pushed the person in his arms away, frowning and about to angrily curse whoever was ruining the moment,

But in the next instant, a name buried deep in our memories escaped his lips.

"Aria?"

Alec's first love, his pure love.

Back then, she was the one who broke up with Alec, and I had helped him through his heartbreak, which led to us getting together.

She was crying her eyes out, reluctantly clutching at his clothes, "Alec, you used to call me Aria, don't you remember? After all these years, I've finally found you."

Her words instantly silenced the entire room, with only Alec's face turning darker than ever.

"Aria, let go. I have a girlfriend now. No, to be precise, she's my fiancée. You'd better watch yourself."

He tried to step back to create some distance, but Aria held onto his clothes tightly, preventing him from moving.

Her eyes flashed with jealous anger, her gentle demeanor towards him instantly changing as she faced me with an imperious attitude."Alec, the reason we broke up was all because of her!"

Her index finger pointed directly at my brow, and even from a distance, I could feel her fury.

"If it weren't for that bitch Seraphina hypnotizing me back then, how could I have ever let you go? It was all her doing. She was jealous that I had your love, so she used underhanded tactics to tear us apart."

As soon as she finished speaking, the previously quiet scene suddenly erupted into hushed whispers, with some people even secretly recording the scene.

Alec remained silent, standing still and gazing at me, his eyes flickering with doubt.

I spoke up anxiously, "I didn't do it! Alec, it was clearly Aria who left you because she was a gold digger, dissatisfied that you couldn't provide her with a luxurious lifestyle. Now that she sees you've made it big, she's come back specifically to ruin what we have. Please don't believe her!"

Turning to face her, I spoke righteously, "Aria, you say I hypnotized you. Do you have any proof?!"

"Seraphina, stop slandering me!" She came prepared, as if anticipating I would ask for evidence. She opened her phone and immediately played a surveillance video. That was her bragging to me about snagging a rich heir, mocking that I could only pick up the poor Alec she didn't want as a boyfriend.

But the subtitles and voiceover changed to me saying hypnotic words to her.

Furious, I tried to grab the phone, but Alec gripped my wrist tightly.

His grip was frightening, and I winced in pain.

"Seraphina, I never thought you were this kind of person."

"What?" I was stunned, my eyes widening in disbelief. "Alec, how can you believe her? We've been together for five years. Don't you know what kind of person I am? You'd rather trust someone irrelevant than me, the person who's been by your side day and night?"

He lowered his voice, staring at me coldly.

"You're a hypnotist. Who knows what you'd do with hypnosis? Even my love for you - is it just a result of your hypnosis?"

"And Aria isn't irrelevant. She's my first love."
