Chapter 35: Geodude’s Training Plan

Brock led the way through Pewter Gym, greeting staff and apprentices as they passed by.

"You're pretty popular around here," Silas joked.

"Hahaha, of course! I'm a man of the people,"Brock replied with a grin, glancing over at Silas.

As they walked deeper into the gym, the number of people around them gradually decreased. Instead of bustling trainers, they were now surrounded by various rooms and training areas.

Brock gestured towards a row of six specialized breeding rooms.

"These are the breeding chambers, each designed for Pokémon of different strength levels. A team of professional breeders takes care of the Pokémon here. If you ever need to leave a Pokémon for training, you can do so for free."

"Some of our apprentices also leave their Pokémon here for specialized care, though they have to pay a small fee for the service."

Brock then pointed toward another large section of the facility.

"This is our training ground. It's divided into seven different sections, each dedicated to specific types of training. You'll probably want to check it out later it's hard to explain without seeing it in action."

Silas followed along, listening attentively. Brock continued explaining as they walked.

"That area over there is the recreation zone, where Pokémon can relax and play to unwind. Right next to it is our medical wing, where the Joy family provides free treatment through our partnership with them. You're free to use it whenever needed."

Brock then pointed to another facility.

"That's our incubation room, where we store and hatch Pokémon Eggs. We'll be heading there soon."

Finally, Brock gestured towards the back of the gym.

"At the far end are three private breeding chambers, one for me, one for my father, and one for my grandfather. These are where we personally train our Pokémon."

As Silas observed the well-structured system within Pewter Gym, he couldn't help but feel impressed.

It was no surprise that gym leaders and their families had a massive advantage over ordinary trainers.

With multiple generations working together, they had built:

State-of-the-art breeding and training facilities

Specialized teams to take care of Pokémon

Access to vast amounts of resources

These elite training conditions were something most independent trainers could only dream of.

However, something else caught Silas's attention.

"Don't you think the training ground is ridiculously huge?" he asked, staring at the massive facility.

Brock laughed.

"Well, it's not just for us," he explained.

The training area is semi-open to select gym apprentices and guardians.

Since many people train here simultaneously, they need a lot of space.

Every trainer has their own training methods, so they need privacy to keep their strategies secret.

"But actually," Brock added with a smirk, "this isn't even the full size of the training area."

Silas raised an eyebrow.

"The actual training grounds are at least ten times bigger than what you see here."

"What?" Silas was shocked.

"Our gym backs onto the mountains and forests, and that entire area is our private training ground," Brock explained casually.

"We even have elder Pokémon who have retired from battle living there peacefully."

Silas was stunned.

So not only did Pewter Gym own all this land, but they had the power to claim an entire section of wilderness for themselves?

No wonder gym leaders and major families were so powerful.

For an independent trainer, this kind of infrastructure and control over land was unimaginable.

He had never thought about how much influence a gym actually had.

Finally, they reached the far end of the gym.

Brock pulled out a key and unlocked a door.

"Alright, this is my personal breeding chamber. Come on in."

Silas followed Brock inside.

The room was simple yet massive, filled with rugged rock formations.

Aside from its sheer size, there was nothing particularly fancy about it just a natural rocky terrain.

Brock walked up to a large boulder and crouched down.

"Geodude, wake up."

A moment later, a round, gray rock with arms and a face floated up into the air.

"Geo~dude!"

Silas smiled it was Brock's Geodude.

But Brock wasn't finished.

He grabbed a shovel from the side and struck the ground twice.

"Onix, you come out too."

RUMBLE!

The ground trembled violently.

A colossal serpent made of massive gray boulders burst out from the earth, towering over them.

"Oooonnnix!"

The Onix let out a deep roar, greeting Brock.

Silas turned to Brock. "So, this is the Geodude you're talking about?"

"Yeah, this is my second Pokémon. It just got through its infancy stage.

As for its data, everything recorded by the machines has already been given to you. I'm counting on you to come up with a detailed training plan.

Onix is just here to let you get acquainted with it. It's my first Pokémon and has already reached the Advance level."

Brock smiled as he spoke.

Silas nodded and stepped forward to examine the Geodude closely.

The Geodude curiously observed the young man. Its Trainer had already told it that someone would be responsible for its training.

It had been looking forward to this for a while. It wanted to get stronger as soon as possible so that the big Onix would stop making fun of it for being weak.

After watching Geodude for a moment, Silas straightened up.

"Just to be sure, Brock, I'd like you to run another test on Geodude while I observe."

"No problem, this way."

Brock had expected this.

After letting Onix go back to rest, he led Silas and Geodude toward the door on the right side of the training area.

He switched on the lights.

"This is the testing lab. It has all the necessary equipment to assess a Pokémon's status with high precision."

As he spoke, he guided Geodude through a full set of tests.

While Brock was busy, Silas paid close attention, learning as much as he could.

After all, facilities like this were rare outside official Pokémon research centers.

If a Trainer wanted to get detailed status reports on their Pokémon, they usually had to pay specialists, and even then, they'd only receive a report without any explanation of the equipment used.

He had only briefly encountered this kind of technology in Pokémon League school.

That machine over there probably measured energy output, this one analyzed Rock-type Pokémon density, that one tested attack power, and the other was likely for endurance testing…

Silas estimated that the total cost of the equipment in the room easily reached tens of millions. He couldn't help but be amazed.

By the time the full examination was completed, more than an hour had passed.

Geodude looked exhausted, and even Brock and Silas felt a little drained.

With the report in hand, Silas turned to Brock. "Alright, let's take a short break. I'll go over the results."

"Sounds good."

Brock nodded and recalled Geodude into its Poké Ball.

Placing the Poké Ball onto a nearby transfer device, he sent Geodude to the Pokémon Center for recovery.

The two of them sat on a nearby couch, and Brock poured them each a glass of water.

"Thanks," Silas said as he accepted the water, then started reviewing the report.

Of course, this was just for show.

Silas had already compiled all the data through his personal AI assistant, Zero, and had even designed a training plan.

However, no Pokémon Breeder no matter how skilled could produce a detailed training plan this quickly.

Even a Breeding Master wouldn't be able to do it in such a short time.

So, he had to make it look like he was deep in thought.

Taking out his personal laptop, Silas began writing down his ideas and outlining the plan.

Brock wasn't in any hurry either.

Leaning back, he casually sipped his tea, occasionally operating his smartwatch.

Time passed quietly.

Two hours later, as dinnertime approached, Brock finally spoke up.

"Hey, it's about time for dinner."

"Oh! Sorry, I didn't notice the time," Silas said, looking a bit embarrassed.

"Don't be. You're doing me a favor there's nothing to apologize for."

Brock waved his hand dismissively.

"But since it's dinnertime, why don't you stay and eat with us at the Gym? You can finish the training plan later and send it to me. After we eat, we'll finalize the details of your compensation."

"Then I'll take you up on that offer."

Silas didn't refuse.

The two of them chatted and laughed as they made their way to the dining hall.
