But now it was time for him to finally take this step, and he was also eager to do so. Ye Feng also had another matter that he needed to take care of, and that was purchasing a new house, as the current house was a bit smaller, and he wanted something that had a big courtyard and open space. For this he had enough money, as he got it from Song Zhu and the Black Dragon Gang, so he told Hei Long to look for a house for him.
The next morning, Ye Feng was lounging in his house, gazing out the window with a thoughtful look on his face. His phone buzzed, and he picked it up with a hint of laziness. "Hei Long, what's up?"
"Boss," Hei Long's voice came through, steady and respectful. "I've reached out to a top-notch real estate company that specializes in luxury properties. I made it clear we're after something impressive. They'll be in touch with you soon."
Ye Feng smirked. "Efficient as always. Just make sure they know—I'm not interested in any old house. I need a mansion. Privacy and security are a must."
"Got it, boss. Expect their call shortly."
Less than an hour later, Ye Feng's phone rang. He glanced at the screen—an unfamiliar number. He answered, and a warm, professional voice greeted him. "Hello, Mr. Ye. This is Zhang Yu, a senior sales executive from Jade Realty. I hear you're in the market for a high-end home near Shanghai University."
Ye Feng leaned back. "That's right. I hope you have something that's worth my time."
Zhang Yu chuckled softly, radiating confidence. "Absolutely. We've handpicked a few exclusive listings that match your needs, but I believe I have one that's just right for you. Would you be free for a private viewing today?"
"Send me the address. I'll be there in an hour."
An hour later, Ye Feng pulled up to the location. A sleek black car was parked by the gate, and a tall, elegant woman in her late twenties stepped out. Dressed in a fitted black business suit, her long chestnut hair was neatly tied back. Her sharp, intelligent eyes met Ye Feng's as she approached with a friendly smile.
"Mr. Ye, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Zhang Yu." She extended her hand.
Ye Feng shook it briefly. "Let's see the place."
She gestured toward the grand wrought-iron gates that slowly opened as they walked forward. "This property is one of our most exclusive listings. It's a modern mansion with traditional influences, spanning over ten thousand square feet. The exterior features a fusion of contemporary and classical Chinese architecture, ensuring both grandeur and cultural elegance."
Ye Feng took in the scene as they entered. A vast courtyard stretched before him, lined with finely trimmed bonsai trees and elegant stone pathways. A koi pond with a small waterfall reflected the soft sunlight, giving the place a tranquil atmosphere.
She continued, "The main house has six bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, a study, and a large hall. The master suite includes a private balcony overlooking the courtyard. There's also a spacious underground garage and a state-of-the-art security system installed."
Ye Feng nodded approvingly as they stepped inside. The interior was just as impressive—high ceilings, polished marble floors, and tasteful wooden furnishings. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows allowed natural light to pour in, enhancing the mansion's luxurious feel.
"This should do," Ye Feng said after a thorough look around. "I'll take it. Arrange the paperwork".
She blinked, momentarily surprised. "You're making a quick decision. Most clients take their time."
Ye Feng smirked. "I'm not most clients. Just get it done."
Zhang Yu smiled professionally. "Very well. I'll have the documents prepared by tomorrow. Welcome to your new home, Mr. Ye."
The next day, Ye Feng moved to his new mansion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, Ye Feng was standing in front of the university gate. While Li Yue and Bai Shuang were having a catfight for a while. Ling Ningxue, who had been silent till now, finally exhaled sharply and grabbed Li Yue's wrist. "Enough, Li Yue. Let's go."
Li Yue hesitated. Part of her wanted to walk away, to escape this suffocating confrontation. But another part of her—the part that had been ensnared by Ye Feng's magnetic pull—refused to back down.
Seeing her reluctance, Bai Shuang's smirk widened slightly. "Oh my, are you hesitating? Li Yue, I thought you were stronger than this."
"Stronger than what?" Li Yue snapped, turning toward Bai Shuang with narrowed eyes.
"Stronger than being manipulated," Bai Shuang said smoothly. "Or do you actually like being played with?"
Li Yue clenched her fists, her pride stinging. "I'm not being played with."
"Oh?" Bai Shuang tilted her head. "Then what are you doing? You clearly know he tricked you, yet here you are, still looking at him as if he holds all the answers to your confusion."
Ye Feng chuckled at that, finally breaking his silence. "Bai Shuang, you're making it sound like I'm some kind of villain."
Bai Shuang turned her gaze back to him, her expression unreadable. "Aren't you?"
Ye Feng smirked. "If I were, would you still be here, talking to me?"
She stared at him for a long moment before softly laughing. "Maybe I like villains."
Li Yue's chest tightened at those words. She wasn't sure what was worse—the fact that Bai Shuang was openly flirting with Ye Feng or the fact that Ye Feng wasn't rejecting her advances.
Li Yue crossed her arms and shot Bai Shuang a sharp glare. "If you think a few sweet words will get you anywhere, you're mistaken. I'm his girlfriend. We've already spent time together, and he chose me."
Bai Shuang chuckled, stepping closer until she was right in Li Yue's space. "Oh? Chose you? That's cute. But relationships aren't races, sweetheart. They're battles of endurance. And from what I see, you're already struggling to keep up."
Ye Feng leaned against the wall, taking out a cigarette and lighting it, watching with lazy amusement. "Ladies, let's not fight over me too much. I wouldn't want you two to get hurt."
Li Yue shot him an exasperated glare. "Shut up, Ye Feng. You're the reason we're even having this argument."
Bai Shuang smirked. "Oh? But you're the one feeling threatened, aren't you? If you were so confident in your place, you wouldn't be so defensive."
Li Yue scoffed. "Please, I'm not threatened by you. You're just another girl who thinks she can waltz in and steal the spotlight."
Bai Shuang let out a soft laugh. "Steal? Oh, no, darling. I don't need to steal what will eventually come to me naturally."
Li Yue's jaw clenched. "You—"
Ye Feng exhaled a puff of smoke, grinning. "Damn, this is better than the movies."
Bai Shuang turned to him with a playful smile. "Enjoying the show?"
He smirked. "Very much. But I wonder, Bai Shuang, are you here to fight for me or just to play?"
She tilted her head. "Why not both?"
Li Yue rolled her eyes. "Delusional."
Bai Shuang grinned. "Confident."
Ling Ningxue, who had been watching in frustration, finally groaned. "Enough! Can we please stop this childish contest?"
Bai Shuang shrugged. "I'm not the one getting worked up."
Li Yue took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. "This isn't over."
Bai Shuang gave a wink. "I certainly hope not."
As Bai Shuang turned to leave, the scent of her perfume lingered in the air. Ye Feng watched her disappear into the distance before exhaling a small puff of smoke from the cigarette he had just lit.
"Interesting," he muttered to himself. "This might be more fun than I thought."
