Chapter 18: The Perfect Plan~
Mo Fan's team led by Zhang Xiaohou was going at a steady pace~ He was a considerate and capable leader!
At first there were a few people who voiced out a few complaints, but they were easily quelled when they saw his competency.
Mo Fan on the other hand was extremely laid back and never did what was absolutely necessary. The group especially had high hopes for him, but after they saw his attitude they were utterly disgusted. That in turn raise Zhang Xiaohou's reputation even more!
Similarly, the rest of the four also gained the trust of their teammates in just fifteen days!
He Yu was a kind leader who looked out for her group members.
Zhou Min was a type of teacher who taught and instructed them about many things related to magic casting and survival.
Mu Bai was cold, but also did the heavy work and showed them the most efficient way of doing things.
Xu Zhaoting was also a capable leader, he taught what he had learned from Mo Fan and Tang Yue.
All the five group did these fifteen days was gather enough food to last them for two to three days!
It was mostly fruits and berries as well as some edible grass and mushrooms!
Mo Fan had crammed the five all the knowledge about wild herbs and vegetables! So, it wasn't really difficult for them to survive out in the wild!
Even though Mo Fan had acted lazy, he was constantly Cultivating! His Summon and Space Element were already at 3rd Tier, while his Lightning and Fire Element were at the 2nd Tier! His Mental Strength had improved and was at Lv 2.1!
He was now strong enough to deal with a False or Small Warrior Class Monster with only his mental strength! In these 8 months he had also joined the Hunter Union's City Hunter's Squad! He was now an official Novice Hunter!
"My Lightning Element's almost gonna breakthrough now! I guess by the time this 2months field trip is over, it will be at Tier 3... In the mean time, I should train my mental strength away from the group. This place is the best place to train my will as there are lot of boulders!" Mo Fan said.

On this field trip of 2months! They were first told to survive in the forest for 20 days and then head to the location which was 30km from the base.
It has already been 35 days! Zhang Xiaohou's group had a stead pace, but many obstacles arrived while going through the mountainous region!
But more or less the students have Adapted to their current lifestyle, the group decorum was harmonic. At the start it was a chaos but under the 5 group leaders lead, the problems died down!
After the five groups of twenty people passed by the valley, a silhouette wearing a straw hat jumped down from a tree within the forest of the valley. Within his hand was a scoreboard!
After he had registered what he needed, he quickly left the forest and headed off to an empty meadow.
"All five of the groups have passed. Amongst them the five group leaders have been exceptionally remarkable," the straw hat said as he walked into a tent to the man inside it.
If the students were here, they would have been shocked as they discovered their Practical teachers as well as the military instructors were all there. They were all sitting comfortably, eating snacks, and drinking wine.
"Oh?" Zhankong creased his eyebrow.
Cultivation was just the foundation, the most important part of a Magician was actually their head and their courage!
"Note their name, we can give them a high grade," Zhankong said toward assistant military instructor Pan Lijun seated next to him.
Pan Lijun nodded her head as she quickly noted their name.
"Haha, you Military soldiers sure know how to play," Zhang Jianguo laughed.
"Yeah, first, we directly put the students on the great mountains and give them a sense of feeling they'd have no help whatsoever. And then, we discreetly follow them and find the more outstanding students during the process of them completing the mission and give them grades according to that… This idea couldn't be any better!" Chen Weiliang also smiled.
"Yeah, compared to the idling from the past, this can clearly reflect a student's quality," Ms. Tang Yue also nodded in agreement.
If the hundred students who were slandered to the point where they'd sounded like trash knew about that their teachers teamed up with the instructors to do this, who knew what kind of faces they would reveal.
Teachers and the Military Instructors naturally couldn't just ignore them. Currently, the things they were studying were indeed not enough for them to survive in the outer regions of the city. However, if they were not given an environment where they could experience the danger, then they would never be able to reach a state of surviving it. "Commander Zhankong, I was almost tricked by you. I thought you really were going to be heartless and not allow a single student to pass the Practicals," Vice Military Instructor Pan Lijun said.
"You're wrong there. Those who are useless during the Practicals will not pass," Zhankong stated very directly.
"This…this is a bounty, there's no way anyone is capable of completing it."
"Yeah, I think it's already exceedingly good for them to be able to pass through the Monster Vine region," Chen Weiliang said.
"Naturally, if it was a real bounty, they would not be able to complete it. Let's not talk about them, even the Trainee soldiers here wouldn't necessarily be able to complete it," Zhankong said with a smile.
"Even soldiers wouldn't necessarily be able to complete it? What does that mean?" Zhang Jianguo asked in puzzlement.

As the group of teachers listened to this, their eyes began to sparkle.
Chen Weiliang, the head of the teachers immediately began to clap his hands.

Xue Musheng also violently nodded his head, "Yeah, we can't let the students face a genuine Monster yet, there would be numerous casualties. "I'm really thankful to you, Boss Zhankong, for coming up with such a wonderful Practical test. I believe the students will definitely reap a harvest this time!" Xue Musheng said with a slight smile.

"Speaking of which, there's only one summoned Beast. What if the students are more vicious than what we have imagined and defeat the summoned beasts with their combined force?" Ms. Tang Yue couldn't help but ask. She was quite confident in the five group leaders~
"Sigh... Ms. Tang Yue, you are thinking too much…In our twenty years of teaching at Tian Lan Magic High, there has never been a single student who has been able to properly cast their magic on their first meeting with a Monster. If we were to take a step back, even if they are able to cast their Magic spells, these students are only able to cast their Primary Tier 1 spells, which cannot wound the muscles of a summoned Beast," Zhang Jianguo said with confidence.
"Yeah. The strongest amongst elements are Fire and Lightning. Only Xu Zhaoting, the Lightning Mage, is able to give the summoned Beast a slight challenge. Whereas Fire Burst can at most give flesh wounds," Chen Weiliang said with a laugh.
The teachers and the instructors began to laugh one by one.
Indeed, they were very clear on the strengths of each student. The mission on the Practicals this time was impossible to complete; all they wanted was for the students to grow during the process of the mission. At least, they would be able to keep notes of all their experiences during the mission!
Ms. Tang Yue didn't laugh at all. She looked toward the valley in the distance that was enveloped in fog.
All Tang Yue wished for is for the hundred Elite students to not be wiped out during the summoned Beast stage. This was because, as long as they were able to cast a spell, then Zhankong would be giving them an A on the Practical class.
An A was already the highest grade a student was able to receive from an instructor on the Practicals for many years!

No matter how much they complained and felt dissatisfied, they still trod upon the road of Bounty.
Ten days had passed in the blink of an eye.
In these ten days, they'd been advancing through obstacles, passing through large mountains and jungle. The bitterness they suffered was unbelievable.
"This freaking Chief Military instructor, I really want to curse him for sending us to such a sly place." Wang Sanpang gasped for breath as he sat his butt down, while fanning himself with his cap.
"Yeah, freaking crap. Speaking of which, how have we not yet reached the 45 kilometres yet, isn't this the twenty-fifth day since we left the forest?" Zhang Shuhua with the giraffe neck asked.
"The 45 kilometres is the distance if it was a straight line. We have had to climb hills, cross valleys, and take detours around mountains. This kind of road is more than 45 kilometres," Zhang Xiaohou explained.
The squad Mo Fan was in had a total of twenty people. The Practical Mission needed to be completed by students, and thus no teachers were leading the squads, nor were any military instructors following. All they were given was a map to use.
The hardship of the journey for the past few days caused everyone to look like primitives, their faces were covered in filth and they were dripping with sweat.
"After crossing this area, we shouldn't be too far from the Hundred Grass Valley that Chief Military Instructor mentioned," Zhang Xiaohou said as he held the map.
"I think we might get there earlier than the other groups if we maintain our current pace!" Song Yinglu the bespectacled girl said.
"Let's not waste any more time then!" Zhang Shuhua said.

After passing through the valley and walking past the weeds that were taller than people; everyone finally arrived at the Hundred Grass Valley!
The Hundred Grass Valley had multiple entrances. If you wanted to pass through the ravine, you had to go along those narrow, curved paths.
"Why does this path have so much rattan, they are all dropping down from the top of the mountain, it looks disgusting," the more delicate girls immediately began to whisper.
Tree sticks and grass vines were intertwined on the ground of this narrow path. Some of them looked like a python from a distance, others were tangled on the ground, it looked as though they had walked into a den of black pythons. It was dreadful, it made sense why some of the more cowardly girls were feeling absolutely horrified.
"It's just some broken vines, what's there to be afraid of? Come, follow me!" The time for Wang Sanpang to show off his heroic side had come as he walked confidently by himself to the front.
Wang Sanpang's bloated body broke through the wrist-sized vines before him as he strode forward.
His physique was indeed very suitable to opening up this kind of path. If he could cross over, then the remaining students could also cross over.

"What are you shrieking for, what can you do other than shrieking?" Mo Fan said as he looked at Wang Sanpang.
"Save me, save…" Wang Sanpang's shout carried a sobbing tone. However, following this, his mouth was covered by a strip of vine, muffling his cries.
Chaos immediately ensued amongst the students.
"Ah!!!"
Yet another screech arose. It turns out the Demonic Vines weren't satisfied with just Wang Sanpang, as they had already targeted a slender and delicate girl. That girl called Zheng Yunxia's ankles were caught by the vines.
Zheng Yunxia was a Water Elemental Magician. The problem was that she is too scared to even link her stars, and definitely not able to cast a spell.
Sigh... Panicking so much when you're not even dealing with a Servant Class monster... I wonder if this is what how i would've acted if Brother Fan and Ms. Tang Yue had not trained us..
"Brother Fan, can you like..."
"Fire Burst!" Before Zhang Xiaohou completed his sentence a ball of flames was thrown amidst the Demonic Vines, and a burning sound immediately arose.
The scorching flames immediately burned out the middle of the Demonic Vines.
The flames rose, and the speed they spread at was fairly quick. They instantly swallowed a large number of the Demonic Vines.
The Demonic Vines were extremely afraid of flames. After Mo Fan cast Fire Burst, the Demonic Vines quickly withdrew as if they had seen a ghost.
The Demonic Vines also quickly loosened Wang Sanpang, and he fell heavily onto the ground. Luckily, he fell on his round, fat stomach, or else his face would definitely have been in a bad state.
"That was amazing, Mo Fan!"
"Fire element is comparatively good, those Demonic Vines immediately ran away pissing themselves."
"Yeah, Mo Fan is formidable!"
As the group of students saw most of the Demonic Vines retreating, each one of them began to throw in compliments.
Mo Fan greatly spread his powers, causing all the Demonic Vines who wanted to attack the girls to retreat. At this kind of time, the power of the Fire element was being fully utilized. Fire Burst's effectiveness was way more tyrannical than the spells from other elements.

"Currently, the first group should be the fastest. Amongst the first group, there are many exceptionally talented students," Zhang Jianguo ventured.
"The first group's Fire Mage is a loser, he was unable to cast any spells when he was up against the Demonic Vines. In the end, it was that student called Mu Bai who froze the Demonic Vines. They are the fastest ones to reach the Hundred Grass Valley. Soon enough, they will encounter the summoned Wolf Beast! The real test for them is finally here!"
"The summoned Wolf Beast won't injure the students, right?"

Wang Sanpang who was injured was patched up, but since he was unable to continue walking. The group ditched him. The group wanted to carry him, and they even tried but it was simply impossible because Wang Sanpang was fat as fuck... He weigh a freaking ton...
So they did what they were asked to do and left him a signal beacon, which will send out a signal to the Military as they will pick them up! The group waited until the military soldiers arrived. After that they moved on!

The scenery from the Valley wasn't bad. To the south was a lake that looked like a person's hand. Towards the north was a bulging mountain pass.
The former den of a One-eyed Wolf was right outside of the mountain pass. In fact, you could see it if you were standing in the middle of Hundred Grass Valley.
The person who led the first group was naturally the green tea…er, naturally the Vice Class Rep, Mu Bai!
Mu Bai was able to successfully subdue every single person in the group on the Practicals this time. The girls were increasingly in adoration of him.
Being able to reach the Hundred Grass Valley so quickly this time was definitely thanks to him.
"The cavern is right there. I thought this bounty was going to be difficult, but it seems like we easily found our destination!" Zhao Kunsan said as he laughed.
This guy Zhao Kunsan sure knew how to endure. In the very last quarter of the year, he had charged into the Elite class and was successfully colluding together with Mu Bai once again.
"Be careful, the bounty can't be this easy." Mu Bai was born into a large and storied family; he was experienced and knowledgeable. He understood that these bounties weren't something you could easily complete.
A squad of twenty people were being lead by Mu Bai. They followed the precipitous hill as they climbed up to the den by the mountain pass.
On the outside of the pass was a small spring, its pond looked about half-full.
The den was already in sight, its entrance extremely large. It was about the same size as the subway passage beneath the city.
The inside of the den was in deep darkness. This kind of darkness could easily trigger a phobia of darkness or the unknown in people. Additionally, a wind filled with ill omens was blowing from the inside of the den, raising Goosebumps.
"How about we wait for some more people before we go in?" Mei Bing asked shyly.
"I agree, it looks scary," Zhao Kunsan spoke up, without even the courage of a dog.
Only the heavens knew what kind of thing was inside that den, so walking in just like that…
If there really was a Monster inside, then they would lose their lives.
As the crowd of students were discussing this, another 4 groups of students was walking toward that place through the mountains.
"It looks like the first group arrived earlier than all of us, that's good!" He Yu said while looking at Mu Bai.
The first, third and fourth group were the groups with the highest combat power, due to Mu Bai Xu Zhaoting and Zhou Min.
Seeing the other groups so much slower than himself, Mu Bai couldn't help but smile haughtily. The five group leaders gathered together after a long time, they were friends after all, even though they were rivals now...
Meanwhile, Mo Fan stood by the entrance of the cavern with his eyes fixated on the pond beside the entrance.
It has been raining for the past few days, so the pond containing water was quite normal.
However, Mo Fan discovered a really strange thing.
"There's traces of water by the side of the pond; this means that the water in the pond was at that level. Traces of water can still be seen, and the decline of the water level should not have fallen this far in the period of half a day… If it evaporated, then the speed of evaporation would not be this fast…" Mo Fan said to himself.

Mo Fan deduced everything from standing in front of the cavern, he didn't really remember well, but he knew that the water was refined from holy spring into evil spring...
He knew what kind of effects it would have on monsters... He went near the small pond which was around 5metres wide and 2metres deep.
But the moment he was within 2metre radius of the pond, he got a massive reaction from the only thing that had came with him from the future!
Yes! The Evil Essence Orb Glowed in a Crimson Glow!
Mo Fan was shocked!! This thing which had laid dormant for more than almost two years came back to life!
The orb sucked the evil spring within an instant!
_No... How is this possible?! It didn't show any reaction to the evil spring when it was used at Aorus Sacred Institute's Open Tournament..._
_Maybe... It went through an evolution...? During my Ascension to Holy Evil God? Is that why it could fill itself with things it previously couldn't...? So does that mean...!_ Mo Fan smiled! He had a vicious grin on his Face!
The Evil Essence Orb which looked cloudy for 2 years, finally looked like it was shinning! After it's evolution, the space inside the Evil Essence Orb had also became considerably huge!
It could now absorb as much as infinite amount of Evil Energy!
The Black Vatican might just turn into Mo Fan's bank in a way~

The squads rested for a while and chatted about their experiences.
After resting the group leaders decided to separate the squads based on the elements!
Light, Water, Earth, Wind, Fire and Ice!
Eighteen Students from Light Element led by Xu Zhaoting.
Seventeen Students from Water Element led by He Yu.
Sixteen Students from Earth Element led by Mo Fan.
Sixteen Students from Wind Element led by Zhang Xiaohou.
Sixteen Students from Fire Element led by Zhou Min.
Sixteen Students from Ice Element led by Mu Bai.
First, Mo Fan made the Earth Element students to create a huge 6metres deep and 10sqm wide Moat in front of the cave entrance.
Then he asked them to make a wall surrounding one end of the cave and other end! The walls were 4metres wide 8metres huge and 20metres long! But there was a small gap at the end of the walls near the mountain side, small enough for Humans to pass through and enter the cave.
"Teacher!"
"Hmm?"
"The water group has filled the moat with water and made the soil of 5metres in front of the moat very moist! It's almost like a Quicksand!" He Yu reported her progress to Mo Fan.
"Mo Fan! The fire group had dried the soft walls and made it hard, according to your orders and are currently on standby." This time it was Zhou Min.
"Mo Fan... The ice group has made the water ice cold and further enhanced the walls with ice. They are on stand by on top of the wall." Mu Bai also reported his tasks.
"Brother Fan, the wind group has checked the 50metres inside of the cave and it's completely safe! We are further awaiting your orders." Zhang Xiaohou also reported.
"Mo Fan, The light mages have lit up the entrance and 50metres inside of the cave." Xu Zhaoting came and reported.
The students were actually surprised, all of the top brass of their class were taking orders from Mo Fan.
In this 2 months training, the squad members had a lot of respect for their squad leaders, but even they acted extremely humble in front of Mo Fan...
That's why the rest of the students quietly listened to what they were told... Zhao Kunsan didn't dare to open his mouth in front of Mo Fan, he still hadn't forgotten what had happened with him... And now that Mo Fan had learnt Magic, that means he could easily blast him with his spells.
"Good Job everyone! All the Ice Mages on top of the walls along with Water Mages! Earth Mages stand 20metres away from the Swamp! Divide the Fire Mages equally on both sides of the wall along with Light Mages! Wind Mages go and stand behind the Earth Mages!
When the Monster comes out of the cave, it will fall into the moat! The moment it falls, Ice Mages freeze the Moat! If by chance it was able to run away from the moat, then Water Mages make it wet! After that Light Mages will cast their spells to blind the monster, In that moment, Xu Zhaoting will stun the monster and it will fall into the swamp!
Then the Earth Mages will use Earth waves and make it difficult to get out of the swamp! Then the Fire Mages will cast Fire burst on it and the Wind Mages will use Wind track to control the wind and create a flaming whirlpool around the monster! Thus killing it~
Anyone has any doubts?" Mo Fan asked after explaining his plan~
The students were astonished... They were literally going to bully monsters to death! If everything went well, they might be able to pass with flying colours and complete the quest~
"Well... What I said is still only good in theory... It's not like things will go exactly as I plan, but I suppose with this method we will have the highest probability of killing the monster. What do you say?" Mo Fan asked while looking at Mu Bai. Mu Bai was always like a strategist even back in his previous life.
"It's fine, either way even if a monster shows up, what we need to do doesn't really change. If things go according to your plan, then the outcome will be easy, but if it doesn't then we just have to improvise." Mu Bai just shrugged.
"I guess..."

The teachers who were watching them from higher ground were shocked!
"I told you... The students are indeed more vicious." Tang Yue said helplessly as she watched Mo Fan giving orders to everyone.
"I-It's not like thing will go their way... They haven't even started yet!" Zhankong said while being flustered.
The other teachers were simply speechless watching their students.

"Houzi! Go and drag that thing outside." Mo Fan gave Zhang Xiaohou his order.
"Okay~" Zhang Xiaohou rreplied

A Greenish Grey glow covered his body and formed a tunnel made of wind! The wind inside the tunnel carried him and he sprinted inside the cave in a blink of an eye!
All the students were attentively staring at the cave, this will be their first encounter with monsters!
"Follow your group leader's command and don't act out! A single mistake from anyone might cost someone their life!" Mo Fan warned some of the students who looked eager to fire their magic at the monster!
The students heard Mo Fan's words and calmed down immediately.

A small foot step noise was heard from the inside!
Thud!
The noise was getting clearer as it got closer!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
THUD!! THUD!! THUD!! THUD!!
A sudden fishy smell blew out from the inside of the cavern, violently swatting the forty students' faces with its stench…
It resembled a large wave coming over to hit them.
"Awoooh!"
"Awooooooooh!!!"
Two frightening and vicious howls came from the depths of the cavern.
The Earth Mages who were right in front of the Cave saw a skinny figure running and skirting around while dodging the attacks of the Massive 1.8metres Wolf!
Zhang Xiaohou swiftly dodged the claw attack which the spirit wolf executed by a hairsbreadth!
A...Amazing!!
The students were already scared stiff from seeing the wolf, but this guy was guiding the wolf like an expert!
Zhang Xiaohou looked extremely handsome to everyone present there!
"Don't look so lost! Focus!!" Mo Fan shouted snapping the students back to reality!
His eyes were glowing with a mysterious silver glow, he was ready to assist Zhang Xiaohou in case of any mishap!
Zhang Xiaohou skilfully led the spirit wolf out of the cave and quickly made a sharp right turn and squeezed into the gap made in the wall!
The spirit wolf was not able to stop in time and fell into the moat filled with Ice cold water!
"NOW!!" Mu Bai yelled at the top of his lungs!
His Ice element exploded and smashed into the moat! Seeing him the rest of the students also started connecting their Stars and made a beautiful cyan coloured Star Orbit!
They were not in sync, some casted their spells earlier while some later...
