Chapter 109 Hearts Beating in Sync

Chi Jun'an nodded and didn't deny it.

After dinner, Chi Jun'an drove Ji Xiaonuan back home.

The car stopped near the community where the Ji family lived. Just as Ji Xiaonuan was about to get out of the car, she saw Ji Ming's family nearby, seemingly having just left her house.

"Why are they here again?" Ji Xiaonuan couldn't help frowning.

"Maybe they came to pay back the money," Chi Jun'an said indifferently.

"If only that were true," Ji Xiaonuan said with a dry laugh.

"Xiaoxi, what are your plans for tomorrow?" Chi Jun'an asked eagerly, his eyes filled with anticipation.

"I've made an appointment with my old classmates tomorrow. I can't accompany you," Ji Xiaonuan said regretfully, understanding what he was expecting.

"Is it a childhood male friend you haven't seen for years, or some boy you once had a crush on?" Chi Jun'an asked jealously.

"It's a girl, my childhood female friend!" Ji Xiaonuan said, both amused and annoyed. Chi Jun'an was really jealous. "My dear President, are you satisfied now?"

Chi Jun'an felt a bit embarrassed.

"Chi Jun'an," Ji Xiaonuan suddenly said.

"Hm?" He looked at her in surprise.

"Give me two days," Ji Xiaonuan said firmly. "I'll come to you in two days."

"Does that mean I won't be able to see you for these two days?" Chi Jun'an raised his eyebrows.

"That's right," Ji Xiaonuan nodded with a faint smile. She reached out to open the car door. "Well, I'll go back now."

Chi Jun'an suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her lips reluctantly.

"I'll miss you," he said softly.

"It's just two days..." Ji Xiaonuan was both touched and amused. "Don't worry. I'll give you a surprise then!"

"What kind of surprise?" Chi Jun'an asked in surprise.

"I can't tell you now," Ji Xiaonuan stuck out her tongue playfully. "If I tell you, it won't be a surprise anymore."

"...Okay." Although he was reluctant, Chi Jun'an still agreed.

When Ji Xiaonuan returned home, she was surprised to find that her uncle's family had really come to pay back the money. And they didn't say much else besides that, which really surprised Ji Haifeng and He Rou.

However, since Ji Ming's family had schemed against Ji Xiaonuan today, even though they had paid back the money, the Ji family didn't plan to have any more contact with them.

Early in the morning two days later, Chi Jun'an stood in front of the window of the presidential suite. Looking down at the scenery of S City, he felt a bit hesitant.

If he called Ji Xiaonuan now, would she think that he was urging her?

Suddenly, his phone rang.

It was a call from Ji Xiaonuan. Chi Jun'an was somewhat surprised and quickly pressed the answer button.

"Good morning!" Ji Xiaonuan's clear voice came from the phone receiver, with a hint of uncontrollable joy.

Chi Jun'an felt a warmth in his heart. Suddenly, a strange feeling welled up in his heart, and he turned towards the door.

"Do you remember what you promised me?" he asked.

"Of course I do. I said I would give you a surprise," Ji Xiaonuan said happily. "Do you want to know what the surprise is?"

"Let me guess," Chi Jun'an smiled faintly. His hand was already on the doorknob. "Are you outside the door right now?"

The door opened, and Ji Xiaonuan stood at the door. Her smile turned into a look of shock, and she asked in disbelief, "How... how did you know I was here?"

Chi Jun'an smiled faintly. "Maybe it's because we have a connection in our hearts."

He just suddenly had a feeling that Ji Xiaonuan was outside the door, and he didn't expect her to be really there.

"I wanted to give you a surprise," Ji Xiaonuan sighed.

"I'm really surprised," Chi Jun'an smiled faintly. Then, he looked at Ji Xiaonuan in surprise. "Why are you carrying a suitcase?"

"I told my parents that I had something to do and needed to go back to school early," Ji Xiaonuan said with a grin. "So from now on, I can go back to the Imperial City with you! This should be a surprise, right?"

Chi Jun'an, who was always calm, couldn't help the corners of his lips from rising.

"Xiaoxi, I'm very happy," Chi Jun'an took her suitcase and looked at her with deep eyes. "Are you really sure about this?"

Chi Jun'an had already felt how close Ji Xiaonuan was to her parents and how much she cherished them when he was hiding in her bedroom.

But now, her vacation wasn't over, yet she had lied to her parents for him.

"Yeah, I'm sure," Ji Xiaonuan nodded. "But this is the last time!"

"Okay," Chi Jun'an smiled. "Next year, I'll go back with you openly."

Ji Xiaonuan's cheeks turned red immediately.

The two of them took Chi Jun'an's private jet back to the Imperial City. After getting off the plane, Ji Xiaonuan felt a bit dizzy.

"Why do you look so listless?" Chi Jun'an reached out and touched her forehead. "Are you tired?"

"No," Ji Xiaonuan quickly shook her head. She looked at him in surprise. "I'm just a bit surprised. You're usually so low-key, but I didn't expect you to be so particular about the quality of life. Your private jet is so luxurious. I'm still in shock."

Chi Jun'an's eyes darkened a bit. He suddenly said indifferently, "My parents once said that they wanted to give their daughter the best things in the world. I'm glad you like it."

It was a pity that his parents had passed away with regret before they could find Ji Xiaonuan. This private jet was specially prepared for Ji Xiaonuan by him.

All these things should have belonged to her originally, and she deserved the best. In a way, this was him fulfilling his parents' wishes.

Ji Xiaonuan was taken aback. Chi Jun'an sometimes liked to say some puzzling things that she didn't quite understand.

"Do you mean that this plane was actually prepared for you by your parents? But they preferred daughters, and they just didn't expect you to be a son?" she guessed.

Chi Jun'an smiled faintly. "I just said it casually. Don't think about it. Come on, Ziyu asked us to get together."

Ji Xiaonuan didn't dwell on this issue either. Chi Jun'an took her to a private club in the Imperial City, and Chi Jun'an's friends were already waiting in a luxurious private room of the club.

The two of them pushed open the door. An Ziyu's eyes lit up. He came up to Ji Xiaonuan affectionately. "Xiaoxi, you're here too?"

"Yeah," Ji Xiaonuan nodded. An Ziyu's enthusiasm for her always made her feel a bit overwhelmed.

"Chi Jun'an, you're so sly," An Ziyu said resentfully. "I wondered why you weren't here yesterday. So you went to pick up Xiaoxi."

"I didn't pick her up," Chi Jun'an said indifferently.

"Then where did you go?" An Ziyu asked in surprise.

"I just went back with Xiaoxi," Chi Jun'an smiled faintly, his smile full of pride.

"You can't be serious? You were quick. You've already met her parents?" An Ziyu was stunned. He said dejectedly, "I should have known better than to call you. You're feeding us so much 'dog food' during the Spring Festival!"
