The Nexus Reborn

### Chapter 83: **The Nexus Reborn**

The golden light erupting from the heart of the Nexus exploded in a brilliant burst, dispelling the darkness that had shrouded the chamber. Kael and Lyra stood amidst the rubble, their breaths ragged as Nyxara's body disintegrated into ash. But this time, something was different—the Nexus itself seemed to **breathe anew**.

"Look!" Lyra whispered, pointing to the ceiling.

The pure Aether, once corrupted, began to flow through the veins of the chamber like fresh blood. The ground trembled, but not from destruction—from life. Cracks of golden light erupted from the floor, healing ancient wounds.

Kael turned to Lyra, his eyes wide:

"It's healing... but how?"

"Because we broke the cycle of corruption. Every Eldari leader we defeated restored a piece of the Nexus's power."

But before they could process the words, a portal opened in the center of the chamber, and a **familiar shadow** emerged.

### **The Final Betrayal**

Darius Kain stepped through the portal, but he was no longer the traitor Kael had known. His eyes no longer reflected malice, but deep pain.

"Kael... I was wrong," he said, his voice broken.

"How dare you show yourself?!" Kael shouted, raising his blade.

But Darius raised his hands in surrender:

"I was their prisoner. The Eldari planted corruption in my soul, but Nyxara's death freed me. The Nexus brought me back... to warn you."

Lyra stepped forward hesitantly:

"Warn us about what?"

Darius pointed to the still-open portal:

"The Eldari are just tools. There's a **deeper entity** in the Void, controlling them. The Nexus is just a gateway... and it's coming."

### **The True Enemy**

Before Darius could finish, the portal collapsed suddenly, sucking his body into a vortex of black light. His final scream echoed through the chamber:

"Close the gates... before it's too late!"

Kael gripped his blade, noticing something strange: the golden Aether began to form around his wrist as a new mark—**the Seal of the Nexus**.

"The power... it's flowing into me," he said in awe.

Lyra placed her hand on the mark:

"The Nexus has chosen you. You are now its **First Warden**."

But the moment of revelation was cut short by Mara's voice crackling through the Aetheric comms:

"Kael! The remaining Eldari strongholds... they're exploding from within! Something's coming out!"

On the horizon, across the Nexus, they saw **massive shadows** forming—bodies of corrupted Aether shaped like dragons, each carrying a dark portal in its core.

"They're opening the way for the entity Darius spoke of," Kael muttered.

"What do we do?" Lyra asked.

Kael raised his blade into the air, and it transformed into a glowing Aetheric symbol:

"We fight to the end. But this time... the Nexus fights with us."
