Chapter 13: The Sorcerer

----------------------------------------------------

Begining of Chapter

----------------------------------------------------

The classroom of 1-A was alive with chatter.

The quirk assessment test had just ended, and students were either loudly lamenting their mistakes or boasting with quiet confidence.

Papers shuffled, chairs creaked, and some heads still buzzed from all the stress, stratigic thinking and quirk usages.

In the back row, a student sat apart from it all. Relaxed, unreadable, and completely unconcerned.

Gojo Satoru sat lazily in his chair, legs stretched comfortably onto the desk, his fingers idly scrolling through his phone.

Behind the dark glasses veiling his eyes, his expression was unreadable, but the faint curve at the corner of his lips spoke volumes, he wasn't worried about the test.

Not even slightly.

Lida got up from his desk, unable to handle the disrespectful manner Gojo was leisurely sitting on the chair.

He walks past the rest, getting a few curious heads turning to him, wondering if it will be the same story as earlier.

"Gojo Saturo, with all due respect. This is a improper manner of sitting.

If you can please correct your sitting, it will be must appreciated"

Lida announced to Gojo, nearly everyone stopping their conversation to watch what was happening.

"Hmm.. I really don't feel like it." Gojo replied back casually, not even looking up to Lida

Iida bristled. "Gojo Satoru, this isn't just about you. We are training to be heroes, and attitude matters. Your lack of discipline is-..."

Gojo finally looked up, sliding his phone into his pocket.

"My attitude, huh?" he said lazily. "I think I'm doing just fine."

His tone wasn't confrontational but the ease in it made it frustratingly hard to argue with for Lida.

Af ew students exchanged glances, now fully invested into this.

As he was about to lift his hand to continue talking to Gojo, he was interrupted.

"Seriously," Kirishima chimed in, trying to keep things light.

"...if you're that confident, you gotta tell us your Quirk brother. You've been kinda mysterious, man."

"Yeah," Kaminari added, leaning over his desk.

"This entire time weve been telling each other out quirks and a bit about ourselves, yet you havent said a word."

"Exactly, like my quirk is called 'Hardening'. I can harden any part of my body!" Kirishima stated proudly, lifting his arm.

The arm seemed to take a jagged appearance as it hardened to show it off

A girl with pale yellow hair and horns in its her most eye catching feature, her pink skin and insecr looking eyes.

She leaned over the back of her chair, grinning.

"I'm Mina Ashido! My Quirk's called Acid. I can secrete it from my body and control how corrosive it is!"

She playfully flicked her fingers and a drop of pink goo sizzled on her desk's surface.

"Whoa, that's sick," Kaminari said. "I guess ill go next, mine's called Electrification. Pretty simple, I generate electricity. But, uh… if I overdo it, I kinda short-circuit."

He pointed two thumbs at himself and did a goofy, cross-eyed face.

"I am Tsuyu Asui," came the calm, slightly monotone voice from the middle of the class.

She was short and slim, having wide, round eyes and shoulder-length dark green hair tied with a bow-like tip.

"My Quirk is called Frog. I can do anything a frog can do."

"Which is actually a lot more than you'd think," said by Yaoyorozu.

Tall and elegant, she had long, black hair tied into a high spiky ponytail.

Her sharp eyes and composed expression gave her a regal aura, and her uniform was always perfectly neat, just like her.

"My Quirk is Creation. I can create non-living material from my body as long as I understand its structure."

More heads turned now, and Gojo lazily turned his own head back to the group.

He could feel Midoriya's nervous energy radiating like a neon sign as he looked up from his phone.

"You okay there, greenie?" he asked with a smirk.

Midoriya flinched. "Y-Yes! Just listening!"

"Really?" Gojo tilted his head. "You looked like you were praying no one would ask you next."

Midoriya's face turned tomato red.

"You are being awfully quiet, Midoriya," Kaminari teased.

Gojo leaned back again and grinned. "Don't worry, pretty sure you have some strength quirk right?"

Midoriya breathed a sigh of relief before realising he should back up his assumptions, not wanting anyone to know about One for All.

"H-How do you know that?!"

Gojo just shrugged, smugly. "I mean, you broke your finger and used from super strength, kinda obvious."

Some of the boys nodded along seriouly. Mumbling phrases.

"Oh please," Bakugo growled from across the room.

"All this talk and you still haven't said what your Quirk is."

Gojo raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything as he continued to scroll on his phone.

All heads turning to Bakugo as he spoke.

"You're dodging for a reason," Bakugo pressed. "What, is it something weak like you?"

The smile on Gojo's face flickered for the briefest second, just a twitch, but it returned sharper, colder...

"I seem to remember beating you in every category during the assessment,"

He said smoothly. "Even got the perfect score. You wanna compare notes?"

Bakugo tensed, a low growl in his throat.

"You guys really wanna know?" Gojo finally said, turning off his phone as he now looked directly at Bakugo.

The air in the homeroom was tense. All the chatter thay has taken place was turned into a uncomfortable silence.

In the next moment, Gojo held his phone up, and tossed it into the air lazily.

And it stopped.

Mid-air.

Frozen completely still, suspended in space as though reality itself had paused just for it.

Bakugo wide eyed.

Seeing this happen during the test, it was weird, but now, this up close, it was something else.

Gasps filled the room.

Gojo casually reached up, tapped the screen once, then scrolled as it was floating on a desk, acting as if nothing happened.

"H-How are you doing that?" Kaminari gawked.

"It's not touching anything, its like whay you did with the ball" Yaoyorozu whispered, wide-eyed.

"Some kind of… telekinesis?" Kirishima guessed.

"Or maybe a barrier quirk," Tsuyu said.

Gojo let them guess for a few more seconds before catching the phone mid-drop and sliding it back into his pocket.

"If you really need to know…" he said, stretching his arms behind his head as he cross his legs. "It's called Limitless."

"Limitless my ass, it's still not better than mine!" Bakugo yelled as he gave Gojo a deathstare.

"Limitless?" Midoriya repeated under his breath, already scribbling in his notebook.

'During the ball throw he used that red ability… and before then, there was some kind of blue force he must of used on himself in some of those tests… now this.'

Midoriya's mind was running full time trying to figure out his quirk.

"Could it be… magnetism.. manipulation of vectors? Some kind of reality manipulation…? Or maybe... magic?"

Gojo laugheda real one, head back and everything.

"Oh man. Magic? That's a good one."

'Wait... I can play this off'

He cleared his through as he took a slight serious tone looking at Midoriya.

"I musy say, great job guessing my quirk. I am a sorcerer."

The class gasped again.

"Wait, seriously?!" Mina leaned forward.

Alot of the boys groaned, not believing that their classmate, not only was physically better, but had a cool quirk.

"It doesn't matter, mt explosions will blast your ass anyway!" Bakugo said, alot of people looking at him, thinking the same thought.

'Someone's insecure'

Midoriya looked at Gojo wide eyes, scribbling in his notebook.

"W.. What King of magic can you do Gojo!?"

Uraraka leaned over to Gojos desk.

"Is that how you made that red and blue, and how you're doing.. this!?" She asked excitedly

" to answer your question Midoriya.. The best kind... None because youre all so gullible," Gojo said, waving them off with a grin.

"I'm messing with you about the magic."

The class was filled with groans of disappointment, all rang out, but the mood was lighter now, more amused than annoyed.

Even Iida seemed to give up trying to correct Gojo for the moment.

'So.. it's not magic.. it had to be something.. he must be manipulating something..' Midoriya thought to himself while the rest went back to their friendly discussions.

Gojo scrolling through his phone, still getting some looks from some of the others.

Ding-ding!

The lunch bell rang out loud in the entire building, signaling the start of lunch.

"Guess it's time to eat," Gojo said, standing and stretching his arms out wide.

Everyone packing their bags, all chatting about the recent class events.

Bakugo stormed out, followed by the group of girls, namely Mina, Tsui, Momo and Jirou.

After that, most of the boys started packing to leave.

"Hey wanna have lunch with us, 'oh great sorcerer'" Kirishima asked as he joked as he, Kaminari, Lida and Sero, who's most distinctive feature was his weirdly bulky elbows.

Gojo gave a mock bow. "Lead the way, my disciples."

He stood up straight as he slung his bag over one shoulder, leaving with them.

He suddenly stopped at the door way, seeing Midoriya, Uraraka, Mina and Momo still packing.

"Hey, want to join for lunch?" He asked, getting their attention.

"W..well I mean-" As Midoriya wad ablut to respond, Uraraka answered almost immediately.

"Yes!... Wait no, not lie thay I just meant yes we would like to join you." A light blush over her fave, barely noticeable.

He turned towards Mina and Momo who both shrugged and nodded along.

"Alright, fellow people, let's go."

"Wait are you waiting for us-?" Midoriya asked.

"No, trying a pro heros food is more important than waiting for you all to finish." Gojo stayed with a matter of fact tone.

----------

Principal Nezus Office

The small but well-furnished office was quiet, save for the ticking of a wall clock and the occasional rustle of paper as Principal Nezu reviewed student reports.

OK the couch opposite him, sat a rather small, skinny blonde with deep sucken blue eyes, drinking a cup of coffee.

"I just... Nezu, I know that I'm suppose to be a teacher but this mornings incident, I just couldnt-"

"I understand, I understand old friend. You can't just let it go. Truly a hero you are as always, All Might." Nezu chuckled.

The now identified man. All Might.

The number 1 Pro Hero and the Symbol of Peace in Japan.

He is beloved by the public not just for his power, but for his unwavering optimism and charisma. He always appears fearless and invincible.

All Might, or Toshinori Yagi as his true name, currently did not appear to be the 7ft tall bulking mass of pure power and strength, sitting across Nezu.

Nezu sat at the principals seat, a steaming tea sat beside him, untouched, as his sharp eyes scanned over the Quirk Assessment results of the hero course student given by Aizawa.

Rrring… Rrring…

Nezu's ears twitched, as well as The now identified, All Might looked up as the secure line buzzed.

The screen on his desk lit up, displaying the seal of the Hero Public Safety Commission.

His expression didn't shift as he pressed the button to accept the call.

Toshinori Yagi looked at the holographic screen appearing in interest, wondering who would be calling Nezu's private number.

"Ah, Madame President," he greeted with his usual polite smile.

"What a rare call. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

"Madame President." Toshinori wore a look of surprise, not expecting this.

A firm, composed voice came through the speaker.

"Good afternoon, Principal Nezu. I hope I'm not interrupting... I'd like to request a private meeting, regarding a certain student you've recently admitted."

Nezu's eyes narrowed ever so slightly, his tail twitching as he leaned forward.

"Let me guess... Gojo Satoru?"

Toshinori looked confused on why thay could be the case.

Then again, getting a score that beat his own best, and then again a perfect score in the test conducted by Aizawa, it started making sense.

There was a brief pause on the other end, then a sharp sigh.

"So you've noticed it as well. He has my interest. Give me everything you have on him...

This boy has... potential. Dangerous or otherwise... Even his own father admited that, so i intend to invest in it."

Nezu took a slow sip of his tea now, finally. "I suspected you'd be interested. His entrance scores werent just remarkable, compared to the averges of the rest."

Toshinori sat there quietly listening to the conversation .

"You're aware of his lineage, then?"

Nezu's eyes narrowed.

"No. Not really. Mother, father, quirk... vague and no useful information."

"Of course. His father, Ryomen Saturo,-"

Both Toshinori's and Nezu's eyes widened at that name already.

"-... the commission's most effective enforcer. Practically known as being the punisher. And his uncle… Koun Saturo… ranked in the Top 20 Pro Heroes within his first year of debut...

A bloodline of monsters, and we only mentioned 2, one might say."

'Koun.. Koun.. why is that name familiar.. something about.. Gambling?'

Toshinori thought to himself as he scratched his head.

There was silence on the line before the president spoke again.

"Can we schedule a secure call? There are things I'd rather not say over even this encrypted line. We need to know what kind of weapon, or liability, youve just allowed into U.A."

Nezu looked at the holographic call before nodding in agreement, tapping his claws together.

"Of course. I'll forward you a window of availability..."

"Very well then. Good day, oh and Toshinori, greetings to you as well." She said as the call ended abruptly.

"Well.. The name of his father alone is... one to cause concern..." Toshinori said as he looked serious about this.

Nezu looked at him before pulling a laptop out from his drawer and opening it.

He then logged in and switched to a camera in the cafeteria.

On the screen was Gojo sitting with Uraraka, Midoriya, Sero and Kirishima, Gojo having his phone appearing suspended in the air around him.

"Father of the most ruthless enforcer. And Koun... I wonder if he still likes his hero name and catchphrase he had..."

Nezu said before chuckling.

"So... what are you thinking old friend?"

"Hmm.. Well... Until we know more about him, nothing we can do for now." Toshinori replied.

'Midoriya... if he is half the monster of his father... and his uncle... al that without knowing his quirk...'

He gazed out the window in deep throught.

'I hope you'll be okay young Midoriya..." Toshinori thought to himself.
